Its the same with with imports with all countries. I mean everybody says BMW or mercedes is such a nice car, which im doubting it. But the high prices is related to importing it, your not paying anymore for the car its self. I had a friend that was german and he said BMW and stuff were run of the mill over there cars like buicks were the high class car to have.

Yep, prices are steep. They will go down though, and it's not like I have the money to buy one right now anyways.

And Chevrolet Europe is a joke. Nothing but remarked Daewoo's. They did try the HHR but only moderate success. They need to bring the Camaro here for a reasonable price and while they're at it bring some of the othe rnice stuff like the Malibu, Cruze and the Volt!

Nice to hear you got it ordered! Bring that baby up to American Car Show in Norrtelje on July 11th if you get it by then

However, I want one within the next years
making it be legal in france is around 4 000 EUR "do it yourself" style and around 5000 to 7000 EUR if you pay someone to make it for you.
May be cheaper if you ask the guy to make only temporary changings ... no one wants to see a camaro with amber lights .. the ticket's worth it

Man, the European version looks so much better! They always screw us stateside and give us the crap version. This is why GM is in trouble. They just don't get it. If they just bring this car to US as is, they might stand a chance. Otherwise, I forsee bankruptcy in their near future.

What are you talking about? The Camaro is identical, only difference is the dealer logo slapped on. In fact there's no such thing as a European version of the Camaro!

Too bad GM is not selling it there. I read many years ago that Corvette's and Camaro's are rare over there, and looked at like Ferrari's are over here.

Now, let me give an European insight.
Gm did well by NOT bronging the car in Europe. The taxes for first registration are HUGE, they make these prices look small.

The car can not be succesfully marketed in Europe with 6,2 l and 3,6l petrol engines. it needs something more like a 2l diesel. And it will still cost the same amount , but would get a smaller tax.
GM also doesn't bother to do a Euro test for the engine, so even these Geiger's don't know what's the Euro rating for the engine: Euro 4 or 5. MPG / EPA means nothing here.

Besides it is rather big for what people here see as a coupe, see peugeot 307 for comparison.

I ordered one in Canada as I am part Canadian and hopefully will find a way for reduced tax.
So German friends, buy used from me!!! Let's reverse!

I also want the new Maro but I'll wait for the vert!
I'm from the Netherlands and overhere they are the most expensive of Europe because of our huge taxes.
There are a few preorders you can place for $90.000 for the coup!

The only positive thing is it's exclusivety is garantied.
For now I drive a 05 Mustang GT vert and I can drive for a whole month without seeing on other one!

God bless America!
