Heck, for $31k, I'll sell you the supercharged LSA engine. It's bit of a premium over the difference between a base CTS @$36k and the CTS-V @ $60k. But for you, I'll do it for $30k. Just the engine only though....

Ok, you're crazy.

I commented in you're other thread, where I was under the impression that you were conveying, in terms of performance, a C6 is a better vehicle than a Camaro. I think we all agree on that.

But you would like a Motor from a $60k+ car put into a $31k car? You realize $31k is not that much money these days... heck my 260hp '07 Grand Prix GT with a supercharged THREE POINT EIGHT LITER MSRP'ed over $31k.

If they do drop an LS9 or LSA into the Camaro, it will be called a Z/28 and it will be at minimum $40k. And even that is an insanely good deal.

And lastly, who wants a "no optioned" corvette? One can load up a Camaro and stay well underneath a "plain jane" C6 base price. These arn't just track cars...

I'm not a super performance guy but I did consider this as an option. My problem with a corvette is that it's not an all season vehicle. I live in Michigan and if I drove a corvette in the winter, I'd be pushing snow with the front bumper... NOT an option.

The Camaro is the perfect all around sports car.... the vette certainly has its place, unfortunately it's generally in the Garage if you live in the northern states.

Same with the camaro though, probably worse because it's heavier (not so good for stopping on ice) and almost as low

I just can't see why GM can't build a 750 hp twin turbo 32 valve DOHC engine for the Camaro, make the chasis out of titanium alloy, the hood out of carbon fiber, keep the weight under 2800 pounds, and price it for less than $19,995

Hey guys this is my first post, but i have been on this site for the past 6 months researching everything there is about the new camaro. Just wanted to share my experience at two different dealerships in my area. The first was a small dealership and walked in to ask about ordering my 1SS/RS and he told me they were selling it at 4K above MSRP! He told me no matter how much research I did I was going to pay a mark-up. I then walked into courtesy Cheverolet (Here in San Jose) and right away one of the salesman told me they were accepting orders at MSRP. My point is no matter what someone says look around for your camaro don't let them rip you off!!! I will be ordering mine in about a month.

Hey guys, i now am getting a freinds and family certificate from a friend, Scott said that this would allow me to get supplier pricing, is that the same as employee pricing or different, because if the car is eligible, this might guarentee my RS package

Supplier is higher than employee but lower than MSRP.

It's above invoice. When I did some calculations on 2008 models of the Malibu and HHR, the discount was roughly 3.3-3.5% off MSRP and about 2% over invoice. The discount isn't a lot but the margin on these cars isn't necessarily high either.
