I don't think you would need to worry about it pitting, I have some plastic chrome on the grill of my avalanche that is now 11 years old and it looks fine

uhm.. if you plastidip it right it looks just like the OEM Grill coating.
on such a small piece, with little practice, it would be difficult to get it wrong.

Plasti Dip is amazing! If you don't like it peel it off.

Can't answer your question, but that chrome strip is the only thing I don't care for about the 2014s.

I was at a dealer today checking out the 2014 2ss. I checked as close as possible as I could. I slightly pushed the chrome strip back at the end that goes down onto the headlight and it slid back. It wasn't glued there. And also looks like it may be screwed on to the bumber from the inside. I could see a small gap in between the chrome strip and the bumper as I slightly pulled down on the strip all along the way. It could've snapped on or screwed on. I could almost bet it's not glued on. As far as what's I have no idea. But looks like the bumper will have to be removed to take the chrome strip off. Sorry I really wish I could explain it better. Hope this helps!

From that exploited view pic, the eyebrow seems to be quite easy to remove. Remove bolt 28, remove bolt #8 attached to the #9 bracket, remove the matching passenger side bolt not shown in the exploited pic and it should come right out.

First mod would be taking off the front bumper the second I got it home, with some plasti dip on stand by in case it doesnt look right removed. The RS and non-RS bumpers are identical though for both the V8 and V6 styles, so it looking ok removed seems like a logical thought to me.

With all the changes that chevy has made I wonder what the aftermarket is going to come out with like lights, rear bumper replacement and spoilers.

Doing some testing with Big Worm. It is not a "pop out" piece.
