Bowtie removeal from Heritage Grille - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Just installed my new Heritage grille in the car today. I'm thinking it would look a lot better without the bowtie. You guys have any tips for me as far as getting it to come off without damaging the grille. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Be very careful when taking it off. It may be damaged from the factory clipping it on and clamping it down. Been a few people who took theirs off and were not happy since the grill was marred or warped where the bowtie was.

Take a small screw driver & pry off just the chrome part of the bowtie. Once you have that part off there are just two screws holding it onto the grill. My grill looked fine underneath the bowtie. IMO it looks much stealthier without it.

I thought the heritage grille bow tie had a landing pad that screwed on from the back with a plastic plate?

Just installed the heritage grill on my 1LE, it does have a backing plate that is attached by two screws that are accessed from the radiator side.

Yep, you'll have to take the nose back off to get the bowtie off..

I didn't have to remove anything to get mine off. Once you have the chrome piece of the bowtie off, simply unscrew the two screws from the front & I stuck one of those grabbing tools to pick up screws & what not to hold the backing so it wouldn't drop into the engine bay once the screws were removed.
