Is heavy rain or car wash a problem if you have the 69 series typhoon air intake?

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=69-4519TP I wasnt sure if the little bit of water that travels through the crevices between your hood and fender, that might get through the air filter could possibly work work its way to the throttle body and into the cylinders. I was thinking i might either put the stock intake back on or find a water shield or build my own, unless totally unneccessary. Has anyone had any problems with this on previous vehicles using air intakes other that the full air intake system that runs to the bottom of your car toward the lower bumper. |

The equivalent of the amount of rain that could make it into the engine compartment then into the filter is probably the same amount that we get in Louisiana just from how humid the air is, so a rainy day in Arizona is probably the same as a "dry" day in Louisiana, lol.

The only time ive heard of someone having a problem like that was a buddy of mine had a z06, a bottom breather (get their air from underneath) and drove into some high-ish puddle/flooding and it sucked it up into the engine.
5th gens arent like 4th gens, if the water is reaching the filter, you should be more worried about your car floating away or having it in your interior, lol |

IF you get into water high enough to get it into your intake..... you got LOTS bigger problems......like whatever you do, don't open up your doors!!!

You won't have any issues with the K&N system. They do offer DryChargers however if you're concerned. I used the DryCharger on my Duramax just for added protection.
