I have one of the earlier 2010s, maybe they revised it for the later models?

The governor probably slowed the engine at 155 mph but you still had enough forward momentum to go a couple mph's over.

Could be. I was on a slight incline down, didn't think about that at the time. I was just amazed. Maybe the last bit of moment had pushed it that last bit?

I read on here that the governor just flashes just as a warning for chance of losing control, blow out etc. That it does not slow you down... if this is true idk, i have not been over 70 lol

I've had mine up to 145-6 at least 5+ times.... and everytime it just stopped and started to deaccelerate.... peddle was to the floor.

This is for you SS guys...

Once I calm my nerves, I turn around for another pass and get a clean shift into fifth, the top-speed gear (the sixth gear on both the Camaro and the Mustang is there purely for highway fuel economy). The Camaro easily hits 170 mph, but from there the last few miles per hour creep up in tiny increments. I'm pressing so hard on the gas that my right leg is quivering. But when the VBOX reads 174.4 mph, that's all she's got. The car is completely benign--no wandering, no scary front-end lift...

I would say your speedometer may have been slightly off at that speed, I know when my Car's readout says I am doing 70 I am actually doing 71 (According to my GPS). On my HHR it's the opposite when it says I am doing 70 I am actually doing 68, so they are not completely accurate.

Please everyone slow down and be safe. Just because your car is capable of 150+ MPH you don't have to do it..What does it prove?
