Deposit here in MD area $1000

Deposit is not the problem...its the price that dealers are charging above list...Dealers here are charging $5k-$10k above MSRP...Crzy price gouging...

Not worth for me...

$10k on a projected $60 k car= $70-75k....That Benz C63 AMG coupe, CTS V coupe, or a barely used Nissan GTR....

I put $500 down to order my SS. It would be more than that I'd bet but I'm sure it's dealer dependent...

I gave 500.00 then they called me in a week asking for another 1000.00 I quess they thought I was a bull sh**er

All I needed was a handshake.

Worked with the SS when it was preordered and don't anticipate any issues this time around. Sales guy has been there for 20+ years so he ain't going anywhere

This dealer has been honest, I just didn't expect a 5k deposit

My thoughts are no more than 1k unless you order some options that might make it hard to unload which on this car would be hard to do. Without pricing being final I would not go more unless there was an opt out clause if price came in over 60k

I would do 5k once pricing is locked down if I had to though just because they probably won't produce to demand and I would rather pay more deposit than 1 dime over msrp

Generally, I put $50.00 down when I order a car.

I put $500 down on the SS, my last two trucks I gave them a handshake.
Its up to you and the dealer. Make sure you trust them on price before you give them a dime. They can sell it regaurdless of options you order.

I'd do 5k down at MSRP. Its worth that to most of us just to guarantee MSRP!

2010 Camaro SS modified extensively. I stretched the body to make it a 4 door, but I swapped in the 3.6L DI V6 for fuel economy. Then I picked up a corvette body around the V8. I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)

$500-$1000 would be fair IMO.

A 10% deposit on a rare car is not unreasonable. When you order custom furniture the deposit is usually 50%.

Yes but chevy loaded the car. There really isn't a lot of extra options for the ZL1
