Well like I said, its not a done deal but its promising to say the least. I've made the calls and I got the main contact person who can get it done for us. Again, I'm not trying to take away anything from Tag or the C5.com event.
If they get a hold of me with the info I need to close the deal then the rest is up to IMS giving us their permission which Chevy has a great re pore IMS and the Hulman/George family. I think this can happen so we'll see. My next mod will be a tip jar! LOL

I went on the Brickyard tour last year, got some rubber off the bricks from JJ's victory burnout the week before. Driving the track with my Camaro would be priceless!

As of this morning, I did in fact PM Tag U It and haven't heard anything back yet. I also txt'd the phone number I have for I think her name is Julie who works in the Merc Store and I gave the particulars and I was told it would be passed on, that was last night around 8p.
Like I've said, my GM/Chevy Performance contact who I see each year and 3x a year for the IMS Chevy Dealers events said this can probably be done cause it helps and promotes 'The Brand', so he wants me to get back to him ASAP with details so he can present it to IMS before their calendar gets something booked on this target date which I assume everyone would probably want to do this on the first day as they did the cruise. Typically we have police escorts to the track and stage on the North 40 but with something like this, info needs to be given in advance and let those who want to participate to meet at that location where we stage for the Camaro/Corvette Rally the night before the Indy500 and then proceed onto the track most likely from Turn 2. Again, all of this is in the pre-amble stages but nothing will be done until the powers to be contact me so I can get back to GM and IMS. This not my show. I'm just a member like everyone else who enjoys this opportunity and wold like for others who not experienced this, to check it out.

Numerous phone calls and emails back and forth and it was on their time and our dime. They wanted waay to much $$ for us to get on that track, wouldn't let us do it when we wanted, no photography, etc etc etc. It got to be such a pain that we dropped it. Quote:
Give me some time, man! I just responded to you first thing this morning. Folks, we are going to look into this and see if it's a possibility. However, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. Let us work on the details with Joe and we'll see what we can come up with. Yes...we'd very much like for this to happen. Maybe it'll work out this year. |

AWESOME! With Chozn working on this, I have a very good feeling it may happen. He's pretty good at organizing "fun" activities for Camaro people.

OK, I'll be going CODE Dark from this point on. Tag got with me and gave me his feelings on this taking place with all the other things that will be going on. I've just sent the requested info that GM wanted and now I wait. I really think this will happen but until they say we have a green light, its just an idea that we'd like to see happen.
My guy said he would take the info to IMS on next week and see if they'll give their blessing on it and once I find out something I'll inform Tag and he can list the info to the body of C5.com, whether its a 'Go or a No-Go'. Bottom line is, we're trying to get this done and I feel good about it. They know I'm with the Indiana State Police and we have a great reputation with the IMS yearly with their events, so hopefully this will bode well for us in addition to all of us being avid Camaro lovers! Again, its in the works, keep your fingers crossed, those like me who believe say a prayer or two and the tip jar mod will be installed if it happens. LOL Peace! Someone turn off the lights as I've left the room......
