Any way to remove bird stain?

I left work to discover my 45th Anniversary had bird crap all over the hood. I washed it off and then tried using detailer on it. I don't know what kind of toxic acid this bird ate, but the stripes have stains on them that won't come out. It actually looks like they have been bleached a little lighter than the rest of the stripe. The paint looked like that too at first, but now it seems to have disappeared. Is there any cure for this, or do I have to either buy new stripes or just live with it? I am so pissed.

If the vinyl stripe is etched your SOL. Try a vinyl safe cleaner and conditioner.

Your 2012 now has stripes on it that are 4 years old and the stripes if not a glossy stripe would be dull and hard to clean if not kept covered with a vinyl product like black magic, Mcguires, etc constantly...
I would just go out there with my Nufinish mild scratch remover and give it a try and if not just that spot it would clean around it and the whole portion of stripe if is dirty and then spray it with a good vinyl cleaner/ protectant.

Or if its trashed Get out the blow dryer on a hot day if needed and peel it off and then clean up left over adhesive with goop off. I removed my clear bra myself the other day it was nice out and went well.

I have been using the VRT on my stripes for 6 years. Best stuff I have found to date. Been recommending that to everyone for all these years.

If I was going very extreme with cleaning, I would do a 50/50 mix of water and alcohol and wipe with a mircofiber towel. An APC would be a good start since detail spray didnt work.

The VRT will more than likely cover up the stain, not remove it.

I once noticed a big patch of bird crap on the hood of my shiny black '82 Camaro, but I was on the way out the door for a two- week long training deployment... no time to wash it off, but I had NO idea what kind of damage it would do.

When I returned two weeks later, and tried to clean it off, I found that the evil that birds expel constantly from their evil bird asses is acidic... that stuff ate completely through my clear coat, and well into the paint, leaving a deep pit. The ONLY way to repair that was with a full repaint of the entire hood.

Not sure about what it does on vinyl, but I learned now to get that off ASAP... If I am driving down the road, and a wicked flying devil flops a nasty on the car, I'll pull off the road and wipe it off...

I while back I posted "parking garage stains" after I discovered CLR (calcium lime rust) was the only thing that removed stains from concrete leachate from my car. Its mild, wont hurt your finish and worked like a champ. Might be worth a few bucks to try, can be bought almost anywhere.

Thanks for all the info. I was actually at my Chevy dealer yesterday, and mentioned it to them. They said they didn't think anything could be done. But they said they would try. When I came back, they had washed the whole car, and whatever they used on the spots removed them. I wanted to go back in and ask what they used, but they were busy with people, and I was running late. So I will ask them next time. But I am a happy camper now.

I always have good luck using Revive hand polish, however be careful it could give your stripes a little bit of shine.
