Heater Controls??

When I got my car, none of the heater control options were lit. When I turn on the floor heat, the little blue light comes on, which it should, to show the floor heat is on. How do you shut it off? You push the button again, and the light stays still stays lit. If I push a different mode, like heat/defrost combo, the floor heat light goes off and the heat defrost combo light goes on. But then I can't shut that light off. Looked in the manual and did a search but can't find anything. How do you shut the heat, or heat light off once you press it on? What am I missing? Are they all like this? or just my car? Am I making sense? Minor thing but I feel so stupid not being able to figure it out.

Have you tried a press and hold with the button?

Floor heat? If you're talking about the buttons on the left controller, those show which vents you want your system to blow air through. The light for the button that shows an arrow pointing at your feet stays on because it's the "keep the lower vents open" button. The light will turn off when you hit the "keep only the upper vents open" button or the "keep upper and lower vents open" button.

The heating & cooling options are all on the right controller. There's no specific "floor heat" button.

Left controller = where air blows & how fast.
Right controller = how hot or cold that air is.

I understand what you're saying and I understand the left controls are for direction and the right ones are for function, but shouldn't you be able to shut them off completely? On the left side, whatever diection button I push, the light stays on until I push another direction. There is always one blue button lit consistently. Shouldn't I be able to shut the direction light (left side) off completely?

Nope. You can shut down the air flow completely by turning the dial all the way down, but you can't shut off the lights that show which vents are open.

So everyone always has one blue light lit on the left side, whether you have any heat or defrost or A/C actually running? (None of these lights were lit when I picked up the car)

I'll play around with it after work and see if I can find anything, but I think 1 of those lights will always be on. Why are you so intent on turning them off?

Doesn't really matter, just curious. Any other car I've ever owned, you shut off the direction or heat funtion, the light goes out and it shuts down and off. It doesn't with this car. No big deal just curious why the light would be on if I'm not using it, not gonna change my life one way or the other, just thought it was a little odd.

I know exactly what you're talking about, and I was just wondering about this yesterday. As far as I can tell, you can't... all you can do is turn the dial to the left, as MontyCarlo said... the light stays on though. I thought it was weird too. No big deal though

I just had to go out and see what you are talking about. The light is on to show you what funtion is activated I guess since we don't have a knob that stays put in one location. I don't think it is a big deal. As long as the outside knob is turned to the left the system is off. I don't think you can turn the light off by the way, I tried pushing the other buttons and it switched the light and function around, and holding the button did nothing.... I don't think it's anything to worry about, it's just letting you know what funtion your hvac is set at, no worries !

Try turning the left outer fan control knob to off and see if it resets the button.

Nope that doesn't work. A light always stays on, so be it, no biggie.

This is correct. It's also the same way on my 08 SS Impala. I think when the op first seen it without no lights on is because they remote started the car and didn't put the key in the ignition and turn it.
