So anyone here agree/disagree with my estimate?
Current 1SS starts at 34,500. I can't imagine that Chevrolet would tack on more than 2 grand, especially when the MSRP for a Mustang GT is 32,300, and a GT Premium for 36,300. In fact, based on that, I'd say a 36,500 starting price for a 1SS is too high, although I do feel a 1SS should slate somewhere between a base GT and a GT premium....so HOPEFULLY Chevrolet will keep the pricing very close to where it is today. But anyways...using the above, my configuration and guestimate on prices: 36,500 1SS 1,500 8-speed automatic 1,100 NPP exhaust That's pretty much the only options I'd add. Maybe blacked out bowties, but that can't be much. I would also add premium audio, but that doesn't look to be available on the 1SS much to my disappointment. Total price: $39,100. My sales guy which I've dealt with in the past is telling me he will sell me the car at invoice, so I figure I can knock off around 2 grand for a total of $37,100. Does this sound accurate to anyone? I'm really hoping the price only bumps $500 to $1,000 instead of the 2 grand estimate I used above, which I figure would be worst case scenario.

I'm thinking around $39,700 for the 2SS. Hopefully. Soon we will know.

That puts a 1SS A8 NPP at $4,705 over a 2016 base Mustang GT auto... Even removing the NPP still puts it at $3,600 over. I cannot imagine GM allowing that big of a gap. Ford didn't change pricing for the 2016 MY. |

I see entry 1SS going from $34,500 (2015 price) to about $35,500 for the 2016 model year.
I think you'll also get the same price bump in the 2SS; from $38,300 to $39,300. They don't want to flirt with entry at $40K - that just looks bad when comparing. I think an auto trans will bump another $1,500 Magnetic ride another $1,500 NPP (performance exhaust) for under $1,000 I06 - Navigation for about $1,000 white or red interior accent packages $500 premium paint around $500 as well The add-ons will get you into high dollar territory. GM has a track record of having expensive wheel packages, so I'd shy away from those if you want to keep your payments down as low as possible. Wheels can always be done later. |

I don't understand why we keep comparing apples to oranges, the scat pack it not the standard charger, we can agree that both the ss models are going to be greater than the mustang but not that much more if they want to keep customers, I would say we can compare the prices of a 1le to a scat pack but not the base model and the same go for the mustang we can't compare the base model to a gt350.

I might look @ the '16 Camaro 1SS but the closer it gets to $40,000 the less I'm going to be interested, hell when I bought my 2013 Camaro 2LT it was listed as MSRP of around $33,xxx, so I could picture GM using the highly anticipated LT1 motor as a jumping point for a much greater increase in price for the 1SS/2SS ..... I know it has advancements and tech, etc, etc., etc., but to me it's getting too expensive and I'm sure the 1SS will have a starting MSRP, my guess of $36,749 ......
