Mine's a DD and I go to Lowe's or HD all the time in it. Just a few towels in the back and let the back seat down. Lugged 8 bags of mulch a few weeks ago in it. I don't baby it.

Over a v6 Camaro for Daily driving??? none... actually the V6 is a better buy than the SS by a large margin.

they are both as much fun as you can legally do... You can't put your food down on a SS... and the V6 will give you just as much fun as you can on a daily driving...

a SS is just so you can feel the power of 426 horses every once in a while. I still love my SS thought..

get it because you want it.. not because you are looking into pros and cons... the V6 will win that battle.

Pros - really fun to drive, its fast. comfortable and good looking. and its a CAMARO.

Cons - having a manual sucks sometimes, mostly in traffic (skip shift sucks!). but when the road opens up, its a blast, lol. also having to avoid getting dinged up, but its worth it. for the skip shift, i just shift either before 15 or after 20. if i cant avoid it, i shift to 4th quickly, then up to 3rd.

I love driving my 2SS everywhere.

I tried to live with the Skip Shift, but in traffic it comes up alot more - you're trying to idle around a corner and blast it into the open lane, but the car wants 4th. F that - the SLP skip shift elim is cheap and worth it.

Cons - gas milage. My stop and go commute gets me 14 on average, but I consider this (and 93 octane ) just fun taxes and not worth complaining about, so the only real con is getting used to using your mirrors for lane shifts because visibility is poor. It took me about a month.

Pros - With a 6 speed and the amount of torque this car has, I can turn it into a 3 speed (1-3-5), 3 speed mark 2 (2-4-6) and in slowly moving stop-and-go I can leave it in 3rd or 4th (depending) and never have to shift. Its just like having an auto.

Wait till the 11 Stang drivers try that - I read they have to shift to 4th to finish the 1/4 mile, so I'm guessing there will be a lot of clutch action in stop-and-go. NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT!

Has anyone taken it on a significant road trip? Like 200+ miles one way? How's the seat comfort for extended drives? Keep the info coming guys!

My 1SS M6 is so much fun to drive. I go thru stop-n-go 7 miles to work, and have no complaints. Just buy the Skip-Shift eliminator and you will be in heaven. Had it 8 months, over 11K already. I drove it to Valdosta for C5Fest I, roughty 1100 miles one way and loved it. The seats are very comfortable; I had a relaxing drive and so did my 59 yr old Father as a co-pilot.

Turning heads is normal - I've always had a unique car. Thats how I roll!!

I have a 35 mile round trip commute five or more days a week (I work for a hockey club). 2 and 4 lane travel 23 stop lights and I still get 20.9 MPG. Skip shift doesn't bother me, either give it a little gas, or if I'm I'm traffic, hesitate and shift into 3rd. Love having my LS3 wouldn't have a L99 even with all the shifting. Love to hear the rumble of the engine - and all the attention she gets! Boy does she get looked at, it's the hottest car on the road.

Don't have a real dirt problem either, the bugs on the bumper wipe right off when I use Zaino - I was really surprised, figured I'd be rubbing the paint off trying to get the splatter off the front end.

Love driving my Camaro everyday. Picked her up 12/22/09 and she currently has 5,555 miles - she's barely broken in, but she's all mine.

Gosh, I love this car.

Oh yeah, long road trips were no problem. Hurling it around corners and the seats aren't snug enough, but are WAY comfy for normal driving. My @55 fell asleep in both my 92 5.0 and in the 2010 Stang, but my cheeks live on in the Camaro. New slogan for Chevy: The best car for the butt!

Agree 100%. My SS auto is a daily driver, 14 miles round trip with a lot of stop and go. I average about 17 miles per gallon. I went back and forth for quite a while deciding between the 2SS and 2LT, including the .30 per gallon extra for premium gas in the SS. However, in the end, I still wanted the SS.

I love my 2SS as a daily driver. I also love taking it out on weekends and racking up the miles on country roads.

I've put 12500 miles on it since December 8th, and that includes 43 days of it being in the shop for repairs after it was hit.

I'm of the opinion that you need to drive a car like this. Letting it sit is just a waste of a good car, IMHO

I have had my 2SS/RS M6 for about a month now. I as well as many other have it as a daily driver. Driving this car is nothing short of pure unadulterated joy. The car handles well, the gas mileage is what you would expect out of a V8, and very comfortable. My wife and I drove the car about 350 miles one way and the car is surprisingly more comfortable than we expected. We have a VW TDI that we drive on longer trips and the seats in the Camaro are much more comfortable. I am also a fan of the stick over the auto. I feel like I have more control over the car with ability to brake and down shift. It’s most likely just me being crazy but it is just my opinion.

Also, I have a friend who is absolutely terrified of my Mustang, as it appears some people don't like not knowing which way the car will be facing after you punch it. She LOVES the Camaro, and has had no trouble adjusting to it even though it is over 100hp more than my 5.0.

Pros - everything especially dropping your foot to the floor!
Whatcha gonna do's - Gas mileage sucks, blind spots but you get used to them, worries about some a$$clown dinging your door wherever you park it, the need to always keep it clean and shiny

I drive the M6 and dont mind the shifting at all as I have driven stick for years but I dont have a load of stop and go traffic and about 15 minute drive to work

Check that.

The only con is this: for that 10% that's not highway, all of the lights will be red and when they finally turn green, the cars ahead of you appear to be moving in reverse.
