Camaro smokes 09 Mustang GT
I was taking a drive this evening on a 4 lane road that has very little traffic in the evening. I came up on a nice 09 Black Mustang GT it had 45th addition on the side of the fender. As I went by he reved his motor and then pulled in behind me. After I got by a car I pulled into the right lane and he went for it and so did I, my Camaro pulled him over 200 feet between 70 and about 135. Then we came to the only stop light on this highway and we both gave the thumbs up. I decided to use the launch mode (big mistake). The Mustang jumped me about 3 cars in the first 50 feet or so. I thought I was beaten badly, then when I hit 2nd gear things changed very quickly. By the time I was ready to hit 3rd gear I was already passed him. Then by 4th I was a least 4 or 5 cars ahead. We stopped and spoke for a while and he had Ford racing x-pipe and ford racing mufflers and a cold air intake. He was a nice guy and even thanked me for the A$$ kicking. (thats is how he put it) The worst part was that there was a car load of his frends in the car we had passed earlier that saw the whole thing. If you get beat by a close to stock Mustang GT I can tell you that you have a very big problem that is for sure.

And people wonder why there is so many accidents and then blame the police that they have too much free time to pull over speeders and not fight REAL CRIME.

I think we all are guilty of a little street " Performance driving " in our life sometime or another
However they do make tracks built for doing this and we really need to get used to doing this at one of those tracks. I know with the New Camaro being back....A lot of us are waiting to sink our Teeth into a New Mustang.....I honestly think you / WE all deserve that after what we have been through meaning the WAIT !!!!!!!!!! Just becareful and remember what you say on here because you never know who is watching. I have seen the best stories or people telling what they did end in bad ways due to law enforcement watching.....I would hate for this Great board to get the reputation for that kind of conduct. OH and No im not Law enforcement Congrats on the Win Glad he was a Good sport on losing. |

There seems to be two sides on these stories. Those that appreciate a good story and those who preach about the dangers on the roads. Is it against the law...of course. But I have had mine now for almost a month and every single time I have had him out on the road, I too have come across the challange. It takes a wise and safe driver to evaluate the situation for safety. And there is no shame in simply giving it a little front lift and quck burst with a shrug at the traffic and a hearty thumbs up as well. But on the other hand if conditions and traffic are condusive then there is nothing wrong with a little stretch knowing that your insurance and license is at stake if caught. Its part of the thrill I suppose. I cant believe it has to be taken to 135 on the street before it was proven that you were the winner or loser. That is the crazy part. When on highway it is easy enough to roll down yes down is speed on a very open stretch then let them go but the race is over by the time you are to 85 to 90. Then you can simply roll down again and let them have another go at you. From a stop on a highway the race can be over by the same speed. The roads are really no place for the 135 mph speeds with another car. That is asking for revocation of a license. There is a track close to everyone that can be had for next to nothing to really let him rip. You dont have to puss out on the roads but you dont have to be a statisic either. See I am on both sides....
