"Fear" of the WOT?

I have a confession. I have almost 2500 miles on my 2013 SS and have yet to go WOT on her...what is holding me back? I think I'm afraid I might break something...lol

Drive it like you stole it! I've been hammering on a C5 over four years now, nothing's broken yet...

I've punched it pretty good going 30-40mph and heard the best sound I've ever heard before (and I was driving through an underpass at the time, which made it even sweeter)...been to 100mph also just the other night....I've also had a few spirited red light encounters where I've gone deep to the well, but have never actually floored it yet...it will happen soon...

My other confession is that I drove a '94 Z28 for almost 16 years and I don't think I ever floored that one either (went to about 115mph in that car once though)...I need to break my cherry soon, or else a can of Old Milwaukee is likely to drop out of the sky and crush me...

You remind me of a friend who had a 2002 WS6 Trans Am. He claimed to never go WOT during the 3 years he owned it. Like you, I think he was too worried about breaking something.
These cars are meant to be driven hard. GM gave the Camaro a strong drivetrain/suspension/chassis to handle the power.

Before you do go WOT go to your Doctor and get your MOD BUG SHOT. After you go WOT you will get a huge smile and you won't be able to stop. Without the shot you will crave more and more HP and the Mod Bug can set in. However, don't be alarmed if the shot does not work because it is similar to the flu shot which does not guarantee that you won't get the flu. Once you have the Mod Bug make sure you drink plenty of fluids (beer) and see your Doctor ASAP. He will write you a prescription for Long Tube Headers and send it to your local speed shop. This helps in case the wife complains, you just tell her you are following Doctors orders.

Enjoy Your Camaro......

If you can find a big empty parking lot you can have fun. Just dont get stupid in traffic. 4000rpm and drop the clutch These cars are very forgiving. i hit 150 on a long open road that I could see miles down. saw a car in the distance so i let off and hard on the brakes. she still had some left. this when it was 100% stock. 150 feels like a stroll down the hiway smooth as silk.

I should have bought a ZL1

Lmao I can't go an hour without doing a WOT pull through a couple gears. I can't imagine never flooring it.

That's debatable.

I don't think there has been any reports of people pissing or sh*tting themselves while at WOT, you will be fine.

I'm sorry but 140+ in one of these is anything but smooth as silk. \

I think you're misinterpreting air lifting your car and road float as a smooth ride.
