I had a 69 charger in the 70s - 3duces / 440cc
I had a 72 chevelle ss in the 80s 454cc / 4speed
Drove trucks for most of the 90s
I am 53 now driving a 2012 2ss/rs with a few mods
I will do burnouts in front of the old folks home before
I give it up.
Seems like most of the stangs I have come across
have been in my rear view anyway

Not a huge fan of the overall updates to the body...but if they make the changes to the engine it will be nice fun car to drive with great power...

That being said with those changes I think it will easily be in the $35K range and like most new cars that get a ton of hype there will be a nice markup of another $5K-$10K depending on availability...the BRZ mark-up was a joke at $10K here in SoCal...

The GT with the track pack (to me a horrible car) was $32K when I was looking prior to getting the 1LE...

The 2015 will probably increase by a similar amount, with a base GT starting in the 34K to 35K range...all my opinion based on past pricing history and current competitive pricing in the segment. I can see the base V6 starting in the 23K to 24K range, and the Ecoboost a couple grand premium over that. That still leaves plenty of room for a GT in the mid thirties.

So $35K is realistic, but the 3400lb curb weight might be optimistic, 3500lbs will probably be closer to reality. The Ecoboost I can see in the 3400lb range.
Hope your right about the price because like I said everyone wins. I think there is a possibility of a big price increase though. For example the 2010 Camaro SS was only 30k. The car jumped to over 34k for the 2014 model and all that changed was the front bumper, hood, and ugly rear bumper/tail lights.

If I had a Camaro, which I did, back in the day, I wouldn't trade it in for the '15 Mustang. Heck, I wouldn't even trade in my '13 Mustang for a '15 Mustang. I don't like the front, the rear and the overall looks of the car. Doesn't look "muscle" enough.

Yea, I wouldn't trade your mustang neither. Your 13 is the best year and best looking mustang to me. I really like the 13's .

I would buy a '14 over the '15. All I know is that GM better not screw up the 6th gen.

OP mentions estimated weight of 3,450 for GT. I'm guessing that is off, and the GT is maybe 50 to 100lbs lighter...if it is at all. Some magazines are speculating that it might have even gained weight.

As for the 4 banger version...its probably in the 3,400 or 3,500 lb range.

After looking at all the released info from Ford, I am now thinking it might have gained weight as well. The fact that they did not mention weight AT ALL in the press release makes me think it might have gained a few lbs. If it had lost weight you would think they would have said that it would be lighter than the out going model since that's a good selling point and more reason to get excited about the car. Anyone remember what happened with the C7? GM initially says it will be lighter and the car ends up heavier because of all the extra stuff they put in it. I thought I saw that the deminsions of the new Mustang were about the same or a little bigger. So with the car being just as big with a IRS I don't see how they could make it lighter with out expensive components.
