tire pressure....

Pirelli 245/45 103y. my onstar link suggests 36psi. I kind of thought psi should be a bit higher. would welcome any feedback. thanks in advance.

Amazing how nyrfan came up with that information so fast, isn't it? You can find it too... open the driver's door and look to the right on the door jamb, just above the door latch bracket. As far as I know, every late modelAmerican auto has this information in the same place (or there about).

Hi I just got BFG Geforce Sport Comp 2's installed and I notice the tire shop filled them to 33 PSI cold and I see the Camaro wants 36 should I raise the PSI up to that in them? Anyone have these tires & if so what are you set at? Thx, Cam

I run a little in the high side....37-38. Even on a hot day on the hiway, they only hit 44-45. Tires are 50psi max...I believe.

Wow 44-45 is high. Mine rarely gets above 40, most ever is 41.

Thx I checked them cold yesterday and they were only 31 PSI. I really wasn't liking the tires I had just bought no wonder! So I put them to 37 on my gauge which is about 35 on the car's DIC and it feels so much better. I have a bent front rim on my car that my insurance is replacing this week ( a leftover issue from a recent oopsy) so I think that should get my car back to awesome again. I'm surprised the tire shop set them that low I guess they didn't realize what a fatass my Camaro was lol.

At this time of year as colder temps arrive, keep in mind that your air pressure will drop 1 psi for every 10F ambient. So it is good practice to set your pressures 1-2 high as AO does. That way, when you get that 40F overnight, your TP is still close to recommended.

Buy one of these:

Best $50 you'll ever spend on your car(s).

Also remember that "max summer" tires like your Pirelli PZeros are designed to operate above 40 degrees.

Avenging Orange,

I run my tires at 37psi and check once per month. Even at 36 my Camaro rides like it's on rocks!! Anyway I just like the 37 psi figure.

A good tire pressure guage is a must, but the ones you get from Autozone or Bridge Auto for 3,4,5 bucks works just fine. I'd rather spend the $50 on a good air compressor.

Thanks for posting this. I had to go from 21" Spring Special Summer tires to 20" All Season Radials for colder weather. I was wondering if recommended tire pressure was the same. It is...36 psi. Thanks for posting this.
