Attended my first meeting with the local Camaro Club today. It was a GORGEOUS day, and was awesome to meet fellow Camaro enthusiasts!!

Funny thing, talking to several of the guys / gals there, and most of them are on this Forum!!!!! .......... That was cool! We even talked about a few of the "current threads' in here.......

I don't know if this goes here, or in the cosemetic sub.

I am taking my Fifty in soon for clear bra paint protection. I was going to not wrap the hood because of the matte stripe in the middle (shiny film over matte).

The shop says they can custom cut film and do gloss over gloss and matte over matte. This sounds nice for protection, but would add a bunch of extra seams.

So, what did you 50 folks do for paint protection? Most of what I saw in the other forum had glossy stripes.

If you like the matte center stripe I would definitely not clear bra cover the hood and turn it glossy because then it will likely blend so much with the rest of the painted areas of the same color and just look like a hood with a strange center stripe seam. I already see that now with all the pics that get posted of Fifty's or the ones on FB. With the lighting and angle just right you can barely make out the center stripe on the hood so clearing it would gurantee it will be even harder to see.

I believe your only choice is to have the shop use the matte film for the center stripe. The seams shouldn't look any more noticeable and may look no different than the already present edge of the vinyl now.

I got a delimma. I'm really contemplating buying a set of wheels. I want wider, deeper, more aggressive wheels. I have what I want picked out. I'm just confused about what tires to get.

What tires are popular? I've seen some that are $500+ per tire. I think that is overkill for a garage queen. I do want something with a good looking and performing tread pattern. All weather tire isn't very appealing since it doesn't get driven under 40° temps. So I'm wanting a summer tire to wrap them with.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Heath

All seasons are 'jack of all trades, master of none' tires.
I'd probably get non-run flat, summers that are cheaper.
But then, mine is a daily. If mine were a garage queen, I wouldn't mind spending a little extra $$.

That's what I'm thinking Dan. I don't mind the $300 range. My car doesn't see much road time. Only 2358 miles on her, since 8/13.

So I want summer/performance tires.

Hahaha I'm a mod addict. More than likely will be getting the Z28 replicas. That's not written in stone.
