Should I take over somebody else IBM 2SS order??(need help fast) - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

OK heres the deal....

I have been in the talks with 3dealers for them to let me know when somebody backs out and I can jump in their spot(since I never cared to place my own order since all I wanted was a base model 1SS)....

Well I get a call from one of my dealers that had me on call, and they told me to come in they had a car for me to take over. So I get there and its a 2SS IMPERIAL BLUE METALLIC with a Sunroof(didnt want a $900 hole) and a 2SS is a jump from the 1SS price...

I wanted a base 1SS because I wanted the V8 but didnt want leather and all that extra stuff... plus I was going to use GM Family Discount and get a 1ss knocked down to under 30grand Before taxes...but now if I get this 2ss, the discount is going to knock me down to near a 1ss Retail price...

The car is ALREADY at 3000 but I have yet to see any IBM near delivery and what if one of my other dealers get somebody car in and that person backs out while the car is on the lot..I would rather take that since I dont have a set color...

CON: And another thing...I dont know what slot this car is...it could be number 30 or 30 all I know and then I end up wanting till fall to get...

PRO I have a confirm spot/car...

WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS DO????

please help me and inform/update me on whats going on with the IMPERIAL BLUE METALLIC at GM in Canada...any shipped yet???

depends, can you wait for your 1SS ?? lol
i feel for ya though i personally don't care for the sunroof but if that wa steh only deciding factor i would take it

it sounds like you have to ask yourself would you rather wait for want and pay less or have your car sooner but pay more

If it's not what you want, don't buy it. You'd be spending a bunch of money on things you don't want. I think what GM did with the 1SS and 2SS is somewhat of a scam, but if you want leather, you have to upgrade to a 2SS, It should have just been an upgrade on the 1SS for $500 more.

I think these cars will be readily available in a few months anyway, so I'd just wait for what you were looking for.

I would jump on it, since it is already in production and they are giving you the car, I doubt you will have to wait until Fall to get delivery.

It's your $30k++ - ask questions and get it in writing. If they meet your employee pricing, and you get a car earlier than if your were to order from square one today - I think it's a win win for both you and your dealer.

I would be patient and wait. You really don't want to pay a couple thousand more for things you don't want or need just to have it now do you? I mean I think you will regret it once the newness wears off and there are thousands of camaros out there on the road and dealer lots. Just my opinion though.

CON: Nobody has seen a blue SS yet.

IBM and ABM were added to SS, after an uproar.

The colors MAY or MAY NOT be delayed on SS models.

Just got the phone with the dealer and the car was the 3rd one ordered.

Is it possible to change the color to get a color that's is getting made, becuzlike dude said above, I have not seen or heard of any blues getting made.

At work still thinking.

I would order a 1SS just the way you want it and wait. It'll be worth it.

Just get it !!! The sunroof is nice and you can't beat leather

Being the first on the block is certainly some of the fun here. NO, I don't have one on order. yet.
