I spoke to a guy at a local commercial, residential, and automotive tint shop here in Chicago yesterday. He advised that 3M isn't the best. He uses LLumastar window film, manufactured by CPFilms and claims it's much better. They also have a "Pinnacle" line that's even nicer than LLumastar.
Just an FYI for anyone looking to get their windows tinted soon. I guess they block heat better than the 3M stuff, look nicer, and don't have metal in them which can block radio, cell reception, onstar, etc.... |

Wow you all got your tint cheap! :-)
I went with v-cool and 3M carbon tint all the way around and V-cool on my windshield. mine was $1100 if I had to pay for it. but my car stays below ambient temperature inside at all times.

My tint was Formula One, Pinnacle Series - ceramic and no metal to interferre with TPMS and GPS, etc. Cost me $300 installed, and in AZ not to have my car get to 150 degrees in the sun was worth it.
I did 35% on all side windows and 15% for the back. Excellent product. Just my 2cents.

I too got the Llumar tint (vs the 3M). Got a lifetime guarantee. For the 5 windows cost $220 which is average for NC. Can't tint the front except the 6 or so inches on the top so it wasn't worth it, and unfortunately the legal limit for tinting in NC is 35%. But it does look a little darker since my car is Cyber Gray. I would have loved 20%.
Good Luck. It's a very worthwhile appearance mod. Lori |

Man it's good to know someone after seeing some of these prices! $125 with a lifetime guarantee and he came to me to tint them.
