Oh yes I'd do it, and as said before, if covered by warranty, the dealer gets it. Remeber, if you had the money....

LS9 is built to go 100K miles. Thats still my choice.

Nvm that TT LS3's, 454 LSX's and all the others weren't part of the original question

well, he asked if money wasn't an issue would you. My answer is no. Because you can make more power with less money by going other routes than buying an LS9. So, if I had the money to buy and install an LS9 I wouldn't do it. It doesn't make much sense to spend that much money to make 640hp when you can make 7-800hp for less.

Strange idea...
What is msrp for ls9? $28000? How much for planting & tuning? I don't know... 4000$?

And all the parts like suspension & brakes tuned for LS3 will become inadequate to the power. So you will need to replace brakes, parts of suspension, probably transmission - and you will eventualy build ZR1 with Camaro body. I doubt it will cost much less than new ZR1.

So if money doesn't matter it's much more reasonable to buy ZR1 or something equal.

If money is not an issue then you don't have to be reasonable....that's the point....if money was an issue, then you would HAVE to be reasonable

Is there a problem with that?....i would gladly lay down the bucks (assuming money was no issue to me) to have the performance of a ZR1 with the looks of a Camaro.

There is difference between oddly spent money & wasted one, imho.

There is no limit to people's perversities, but that engine swap will bring performance without prestige... less than 1% of people around will understand the efforts put & result gain, for 99.9% it will be just tuned camaro. But ZR1 will have same performance plus guarantee plus prestige, because much more people aware of its cost.

Just my opinion.

Concerning the choice, I would choose some famous custom shop. With unlimited financing I would buy ZR1 Corvette & force the custom shop to make fibre carbon body absolutely identical to Camaro or may be somehow slightly changed to my own conception of ideal Camaro. May be even unpainted at all (I love the look of pure clean carbon fibre). Imagine the heft decrease; and guarantee remains btw.

And as a bonus many magazines & car shows will be glad to have their hands on that lovely monster.

Something like this Mansory Carbon Cayenne:

If money weren't an issue, neither would feasibility. That being said, I'd get a pedigreed set of Camaros and ZR1s and breed them, selling off the additional offspring to crazy tuners until I had enough money to get a decent interior. Also, I'd curate a museum to house the one-off mutations: the Camaro Half-Track, the Camaro Limousine, the Firebird, the Corvair....

If I had the money? YES! But the entire power train would need an upgrade as well, if anything, for peace of mind.

I'd rather slap a supercharger on the stock motor, if possible.

A friend of mine had to have the transmission in her SS Trailblazer replaced... the dealer cut the frame to remove it... therefore voiding her warranty and compromising the structural integrity of the vehicle...
That's why if I had the time I would do it myself, if not pay a reputable shop to do it.
