Just watched this hack of a show. If you can't make a 454 Chevelle with heads and long tubes run 13's it's not running right. A true SS has a half way decent gear factory. And when you change heads out you know you need a push rod measuring tool., plus you don't need to tear down the motor to change them.

Plus that 454 is worth crap with aftermarket heads and intake. What a joke.

Just my opinion.

Some dude rolls up with "numbers matching Chevelle SS" that runs 15's. He has $50,000 to get it 13's or better. They make a big deal about molesting the car but it already has edelbrock heads, intake , and some nice long tubes. Not to mention it's a four speed car. That car should me 13's all day long easy. So they drop a 572 crate motor in.

The do a 55 vette with a edelbrock top end kit to find the factory push rods are to short, duh. Then the owner is complaining they have to tear the motor down to fix the problem.

It's a show for people that have no clue about cars basically.

Lots of people think they can't chose a bad engine combo. I blame it on the "I need THIS carb for SURE" mentality.

That Chevelle probably needed the right carb and a gasket match, not new heads.

They put a 572 in it. Dude had matching parts and ruined it just for a second and a half in quarter.

But hey, it's his money and ride.

I watch it because they are pretty funny and it's still a car show. Rather watch a bad car show than the other shite on tv now.

Never heard of that show but like all shows on tv, it's staged. Just like Street Outlaws. Now I'm not saying those guys don't know anything about cars but c'mon. You race down streets with 1500 plus up and no one hears it? Not to mention they race countless times? OKC cops must be dumb as rocks.

I think that Chevelle needed a serious driver mod. How does a 454 not do better than a 15.0? And how does a 572 only run 12.4? Im faster than that with a cammed only 376....?

$50K plus the $ for the car = 12.4 in the 1/4 mile? The show has some laughs, but there are so many other things to do with that cash...used ZR1 maybe? Or ZL1 with HP mods?
