Just got home, in bed, exhuasted! I'll post my pics to photobucket this weekend. Left Indy, went through Lexington, KY and Knoxville and down Tail of the Dragon. It was beautiful, but wet. Great fun. I met lots of awesome people on the Power Tour. Recommend to EVERYONE to do it!

I had to leave after Indy so I made it home today. Total distance driven was 2,482 miles. Total gas burned was 126 gallons! I had a good time. I would have had a great time but it was so damn hot. Everyday it was over 100 deg F at the event. I looked for other C5 members but no luck finding owners.

The 69 ran very well during the entire tour including 3-passes at SGMP. I guess the 4-core radiator I bought 10 years ago paid off. Best time was 13.572 @101.99 which corrects to 13.048 at 106.16. This time beats my 2010 SS. Not bad for a lil-ole 95 Z28 LT1.

I dusted a new model vette on my last 1/4 mile pass at SGMP around 4PM. Did anyone catch it on video?

got home a little after midnight, that was over a 12 hour drive home for me.well worth it...i wasn't too impressed with Detriot, but driving on the GM proving grounds in Milford was a hoot. Starts in Detriot next year and ends in Arlington,Texas at the new stadium. Meeting Chip Foose and him signing my fuse box cover and drawing a new camaro on it was sick. What a nice down to earth guy.

Finally able to post some photos from my trip from home to Indianapolis, Muskegon and then home again.

What an absolute BLAST. Biggest car show ever was at Indianapolis. Thousands of cars. I took over 250 photos. More Gen 1's in one location than since the day they were rolling of the assembly line.

Was able to take a lap on the track and had some video running for that event.

Then off to Muskegon where it was held downtown and drew a HUGE crowd.

I am already working on doing it again next year since it starts so close to my hometown.

Enjoy.

This is the group of cars I've been running with. A 2010 SS, an awesome street rod, custom built and beautiful, a 67 Camaro and a (?year) mid 60's GTO. These are some awesome people and awesome vehicles.
That's a 1965 GTO. I used to have a 65 LeMans when I was in high school and college. I was gonna get a 65 GTO, 'till I saw the new Camaro concept in 2006, though.

Well, back to work today. I learned that my dad doesn't need to be a long hauler any more. As has been mentioned, it was hot, too damn hot for too damn long. The schedule, combined with the heat, was too much for my dad. He's into cars, but doesn't have the passion for it as I do. We cut out after Muskagee, what ever that city is. We did have a great time, regardless. We hung out with and cruzed with friends from last year. I think I will find something more on the relaxing side when I visit with my dad in the future. Gotta love the guy for hanging with me, though. He never asked to go, and out lasted people much younger than he. I could just tell he had had it. Did a great job for a 73 year old with Parkensins...thanks dad.

Indeed, thank you. We have learned so much more about each other from these trips togehter. I understand I need this time with him while I've got it...just doing something else in the future.

I'm going to try the Long Haul! I may have to remove my Oklahoma Sooners tag frame before I cross the Red River though!
