Cool 2014 Camaro LS Stereo

Hello all. I am new to this site hope I can get some info.

A couple of days ago I bought a new 2014 LS. When I was at the stealership I noticed the car had no usb port. I asked numerous times if the stereo had the capability to play my music( ipod, or phone) if not, I don't want the. I was told by several salesmen there that it could. No problem they said, it's all done through Bluetooth now, no need for cables. I asked again, and again, same answer.
Well.. as you all may know, it can't. Now I am hassling with them over it.

I have been researching this PDIM that can be added to the system, but what I want to know is, will it work with the stock in there now, and is it available for 2014 yet? I haven"t seen any listing for it.

I think they should own up to their mistake and install it if so.

Any info would be great. Thx.

There have been a couple threads, the harness in the 14 is missing a few pins for the pdmi. Module.

About 3 months ago, I upgraded from 2013 Sonic LT to 2014 Camaro 2LS.
On the Sonic my radio had Bluetooth for my iPhone. Loved it!
When I was shopping for my Camaro, I figured it's a 2014... it's a Camaro... this should be standard. NOPE!!!
It only has the AUX cable in the center console. No USB, No Bluetooth.
Even when you plug in your device to the AUX cable, you can't even skip to next song using your steering wheel controls.
This sucks... All that money we put in... you can't even provide this feature.

A total embarrassment to Chevy. I too was assured that my LS had all the features I wanted. Now I realize that they used words in such a way to cover up that there was no USB. I also wouldn't have bought that car/model car had I known. So live and learn, I figured I'd add the PDIM only to find out the harness isn't compatible. 100% misrepresentation....Class action lawsuit anyone?!?!

BTW, the radio on my Mom's base 2014 Hyundai Elantra has fully integrated BT for apple & android phone AND music with on screen control

So no music over BT? Aw, I was trying to figure that out.

Is this a function of the radio itself? I was under the impression that the BT was a separate unit than the radio. If it is built in the radio, couldn't you just install a radio from an earlier year?

I only ask, because I have a 2012 1ls. When I had the stock radio, I did have BT and the usb in the center console. I could control my ipod through the head unit.

No, on cars that have it or added it there is a pdmi interface that gets mounted under the center console

So could they replace the radio and the PDMI interface in the 2014, or does the car not even have the wiring to handle it anymore?

It has nothing to do with the radio, the bluetooth AUDIO comes from the PDIM module connected to the radio. On the '14 LS models, the harness was changed, and the PDIM will not work with this new harness. However, you should have bluetooth PHONE audio, that is through the On Star module in the car....
