Even though no one who works for GM is saying, isn't the hood most likely the holdup? It's been an issue since the beginning and now both styles are on constraint right?

My question is if this is a major issue then what steps have been taken to rectify it? Would those of us at 4B00 not have moved back? Why has the status not changed on any of the cars that have been assembled?

I live about 45 minutes from the plant and heard from a reliable source that the problem is a chip in the BCM. The supplier is in Japan and it will be 6 - 8 weeks before there is a fix.

I don't think I'll believe anything until (and if) we see an official announcement from GM. But, just for the sake of conversation.....

Told by who?

What do you mean by "launch control pulling too much and putting pressure on the transmission"? I'm confused. Are you talking about launch control working "too good" and stressing the trans? God I hope not....if that was the case, my guess would be their answer would me more torque management. If so, mid 12's here we come! :(

Without brake pads? If so, surely it was a parts shortage and they decided to press on with assembly right?

Keep I mind, whatever the reason, a car was required to be shipped back (the Texas dealer saga) in order to receive this fix . So I highly doubt it has anything to do with brake pads

The cars built already would stay in the 4xxx range. What will probably happen is it will go from 4B00 back to 4300 to get fixed and then either back to being bayed or shipped. Maybe they have a code that puts them back on the line if special jigs or tooling is needed to make the fix.

Would you be satisfied if GM issued a statement indicating that "an issue was identified during the Quality Control process that needs to be resolved before production can resume and vehicles can be shipped to dealers."
