Axle-back exhausts - need help deciding...

I'm looking at 2 axle-back exhausts: Borla S Type and Borla Touring. I only want feedback from those using Borla. I'm not interested in any other brand. A buddy of mine has the Touring on his SS and it sounds throaty, but still seems a lot like stock. I haven't heard the S Type in person, only through videos on this site. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has either exhaust to help me make my decision. Thanks!

i have the borla atak axleback and would not go with anything else. the other two are kind of quiet, but if thats what youre going for, get the s type. the atak isnt too loud at all and sounds great

Atak sounds nice but too loud for me. I may be leaning toward S Type, but the Touring does sound nice too.

I have the S type with CAI intake. Sound is good at idle, great when you hit it. Now I have headers, cats, cam, tune so now it's even better.
You won't be disappointed.

Agree with above post. I too have the cat-back S-type with CAI Inc. intake. Above 2K RPM you will definitely be loud in the cabin (i.e. > 75MPH) I went though the same thing but my choices were between Atak and S-type. I plan on getting headers in the future and know it will be even louder, so the ATAK was out. I didn't want a stock car sound constantly. Might be great for a track car, but not my weekend driver.

The touring pipes from listening to the video from David Borla didn't cut it for me. He even states they are just a little louder than stock. You won't gain any power benefit so it's all about the sound.

If you want headers in the future I'd go with the Touring.
If you don't want headers anyway I'd take the S-Type.

On my 2010 2LT I had BBK LT headers and S-Type mufflers = Was a lil to loud for my taste.

On my 2011 2SS I'll go with Kooks LTs and the GMPP street axle back(which is the same as the borla touring).

I agree. There is no significant performance increase (there is a reduction in weight so there is a small benefit there) so sound it the only real factor. With the Touring there just isn't enough of a change to really justify the expense in my opinion.
