It was a great day today! Lots of good racing. God I miss taking a car to the strip :(

Passed a silver SS with GFX, black stripes, and aftermarket wheels on the way home.

If I read it right, half the Pro Stock field were Camaro, and 3 of 4 in the semis were as well. PS Winner and runner up? Camaros.

I would of posted up here to meet up but we couldn't even find our other friends up there...didn't help his phone was dead. Come to a Friday test n tune with us.

1000' finish line helped et. MPH is really impressive. Wonder where it is measured...

They have been at the 1000ft for a while though havent they? I noticed the nhra tree sits probably 100+ft ahead of the regular tree that commerce normally sits. I think the finish line is still at the normal line and thats where they measure out the speed.

Since July 2008. Initially a temporary change, but it has remained in effect. Probably will unless they greatly limit the fuelers some other way.
Commerce already had 1000' timers in place. A long time ago they used to measure MPH following the 1320 mark, but then moved the MPH lights inside the 1320 to lower the recorded MPH.
The speeds are now higher for 1000 races than they were for the 1320 races. They are definitely laying down more power. I just wonder exactly where the MPH lights are for the 1k finish.(before 1k, or after 1k)

Hey folks. I've been lurking here a while. Thought I would finally post up since I think I have been called out! That was probably my SIM with matte stripes that Mydivorcegift saw on the way home from Commerce yesterday. This was my first NHRA event and I'm hooked! Would like to hook up with y'all sometime for a Test and Tune. Never taken my car down the track but looking forward to it! I'm planning on going back to Commerce at the end of the month for the LSX Shootout. Anybody else going?

Normal sounds that the LLT makes. Many notice it months after owning the car. sometimes if your oil is low it will sound louder than normal. It's the HPFP and injectors having a party under the hood. All of GM's High Feature engines have this noise.
