Zero body chips. xxx months.

Since mkfenwick asked about door dings on his thread, I thought I would start this one on body chips.
With the poor record the Camaro has re chips, I find it amazing that in almost 4 years my summit white
SS is totally chip free. That's after 27,000 miles, many of them on the interstates.

After buying the car in Houston, I managed to pick up three chips driving home to Chicago.

Small chips are VERY difficult to see with Summit White (another reason I really like the color.). I'd be willing to bet that you have chips and just can't see them.

Conversely, on black, if you drive the car a single mile, you're gonna find something.

When the Summit White chips are slight, you see white primer coat on metal, very hard to notice chips. The bumper however is black under the top coat, so chips are very noticeable. I had the Expel clear shield installed on the entire front including leading edge of the hood, it also covers a few inches onto the front fenders, mirrors, head lights, fog lights, signals and bottom half of quarter panel gill area. Best $750 I've spent. I have on small chip on hood - got on the trip home after buying it.

Very hard to believe you don't have any. Maybe they're more difficult to see but they are there. Check your lower front grille closely and the fake gills on the rear quarter.

2 months and no dents, chips, or bird droppings yet.
Now I am scared to drive it because there's always a first time for everything :-)

Mine had chips when I got it because it was used. But since I have had it, I don't notice any new ones, at least that I know of. I do have one door ding though
