I wouldnt mess with a GT-R in my SS. My old supra on the other hand.......

In all honesty I love the GT-R and all of its kind before hand. However imo id still choose a Zo6 or for a litte extra $$$ a ZR-1 over it

don't forget, besides the extra torque, horsepower, awd, and slightly less weight, the 2010 GT-R is rated at around 195mph top speed, so eventually he'll be long-gone

oh, and the japanese weigh about 100lbs less than the American so....
(j/k on that one obviosuly)

2SSARME has it right,

The GTR's powertrain is reportedly good for a zero to 60 time of 3.5 seconds, a quarter mile time of only 11.7 seconds and a top speed of 192 mph.

The BASE Price is $80,800.

I have less than $50K into my Camaro and have better times and looks. Oh, and it's AMERICAN!

Plus, the new GTR is AWD and guess what that means... NO DRIFTING OR BURNOUTS! It's an amazing car but I'll take the older Skyline GTR or my Camaro SS over it any day.

Nice times in the Vette GMRULZ. How often do you take the car to the track and what was your 60 ft on that pass? Just curious because traction is a major issue with my car.

you're comparing a second best ever run to a MT time of a GTR? That says alot about the GTR actually.

Reefblue,

I go to 2 track rentals per year where I can race all day w/ 29 other cars only, and get a slew of runs, and I go to some test/tune street wars nights. The track I go to does a great job w/ prep and I have had little to no traction issues. On the street its a different story. I beleive it was a 1.83, I don`t have the slip in front of me but it is posted on the corvette forum in the fastest list.

Evil Twin,

Your right it does say a lot about power and ability to put it to the ground. Even on the street the GTR w/ all wheel drive most likely won`t have traction issues like my Vette. What evens them up is the track prep and being able to launch the rwd car hard. So given a hard spin free launch my Vette that I paid 44k for brand new, it stickered for 51k, but I got it much cheaper, ran w/ in 2 tenths of that 70k+ monster...Which I believe they are selling for much more than sticker or at least they were.

As far as second best ever run, true, but how many Vette guys run at the dragstrip and actually know how to drive? The few that do aren`t stock for long. Not to mention most Vette people get them optioned out w/ all the pimpiest options making it weigh much more than mine. I have 3 options other than all the power goodies ect that are on the car already. z51 handling package w/ lower rear gears, NPP butterfly valve exhaust and chrome wheels... Chrome is faster... So I have a light car w/ only performance upgrades. But its hardly a stripper, I mean it has power everything, tilt/ c/c climate control, push button start ect... Its optioned on the inside almost exactly like my 2SS.

So how fast did that 03 Cobra of yours run stock or what has been the fastest ET for one or a completely stock GT-500 for that matter?

Remember, those GT-R mid 11 sec. times are some of the first ones with the warranty voiding, use it 7 times and the trans is done, launch control. I would like to see a test or see one at the track with the "updated" launch control. From what I've heard it looses about .5 in the quarter. It's still a bad ass car, and an automatic all wheel drive is hard to beat on the street.
