If its the same ls7 as the z06 in the z/28 I would Definitely do longtubes and some headwork. Maybe even open headers to remove weight depending on the track. Man that would be a vicious sound. My ls3 is STUPID loud with no mufflers.

I am from the old school, big block 427 days where more cubic inches, lift, duration, fuel, and spark ruled the day. I have looked at what Hennessey is doing on their LS7's and wonder if that would be a good application without hurting the road coarse focus of the car.
From what I have seen, it seems high 500 and some low 600 whp is capable N/A.

I am really interested on a Z28 but I dont want to feel like I am down grading on horse power. I am used to lots of power.
I know if I want another supercharged camaro why not get a Zl1,. Just the fact that the Z28 WILL BE limited production and its has lots of race components it makes it a nice car to collect.

If your interested in collecting, your not going to want to boost it. Changes like that will hurt it's collectiblity. Would you pay more for an all original 1970 Z/28 Camaro or a 1970 Z/28 Camaro with an LS3 in it?

Also, the LS7 responds really well to non boosted upgrades. I know someone in Vegas pushing 700HP on his N/A, daily driven Z06.

What is your goal with the Z/28 where you think it needs a significant power increase?

My z06 made 705rwhp on 6psi on a stock bottom end. Plenty of other ls7s doing the same. Pistons are the weak point. Plenty of 1000rwhp stock block ls7s even though I rather have a ls3 or different option at that level.

Its all in the tune. Unfortunately for you, OP, theres no decent tuners in your area that can keep a motor in 1 piece for very long while still making the power.

I think Hennesseyrgv just wants to build his version of a sick car. He just wants to start out with what is arguably the most capable Camaro ever created by GM, instead of the regular one. I'm sure he won't be alone in modding the hell out of one. If he's got the cash and mindset, go for it!

Whether or not the motor will last is dependent on many variables discussed above. These motors have blown up in stock form, so I'm not sure how quick I would be to slap a SC on one.

I understand that people want more power but the Z/28 is a scalpel and something like the GT500 is a chainsaw, so asking why a scalpel doesn't cut as much as a chainsaw is asking the wrong question. They are two different things for two different purposes.

I think you're missing the point. He doesnt want a chainsaw. He can go to his local ford or chevy dealership and pick one up for less than the Z/28. He wants a scalpel with a big blade.....just to keep the analogy goin lol

Because people have different taste, wants, and needs out of a car. Why judge what other people want? I think a supercharged 700rwhp z28 would be a pretty fun car.
