Clyde I here ya. I want a Z28 as well.

The 1LE is a perfect 1LE, with it's better brakes, suspension and tranny (it does needs a more racing designed seat though). But it is NOT a Z28. It must have more power!

I bet the combination would add 15-20 horse'. The NPP exhaust on base 'Vettes added like 6-horse' and I imagine it wouldn't be out of the question that the EPS might add nearly equal or more to that. I like the tunability even more of the EPS (well - at least that GM can tune it, lol) It seems that's one of the things the reviewers are talking a lot of positives about. I think it would be silly not to bring that system over here. Dual-snorkle intake, too.

CAI/RamAir + Dual Mode + eSteering + a very mild tune could = 440ish hp (similar to BOSS...).
The question remains (and perhaps the Team has done heads-up testing to confirm?): Can MRC make up for 200+ lbs.?

I personally still think there's a viable DOUBLE HEADER marketing opportunity here:

1LE (as a 1SS option) = BOSS...BOTH priced @ $40-42,000
BOSS LS = 1LE + more than 440 hp...a.k.a. Z/28...BOTH priced @ $48,000

1SS = $31,500, Base
2SS = $36,000, Base
1LE = $41,000, Base
Z/28 = $48,000, Base
ZL1 = $55,000, Base

In the immortal words of Mr. Sloan, "Stair-step the price ladder"...or words to that effect...

My $.02...

I like what you've done here. This works very well to get an individual to justify it's only $$ more to get what I REALLY want. (marketing 101)

I'm one of those people that thinks factory is never good enough. I always have to change things. Even right now I'm looking to buy a house, I found what I like, but I still have to modify the floorplan. However the 1LE with an LS7 would need NO changes other than labeling it a Z28.

Lowdown has it right just build a 1LE and a Z28 from the 1LE by adding the LS7. We know the LS7 is going away for the 6th Gen so this is the LAST chance for a factory 427 Camaro. Please don't make us beg(anymore).

"As is" they can likely fast track it to production..... change anything not already tested in the chassis, (LS7 etc.) it likely won't happen in the 5th gen chassis.

As-is, would be great :threethumbsup:

I hope I'm wrong too LOL

I still believe the ZL1 was destined to be the Z28, till someone at GM (Scott?) said, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is THE MOST BADASST Camaro we've ever built.... INCLUDING the 69 ZL1... and due to CAFE restraints may be difficult to beat.... at least for a long time. If anything deserves the ZL1 badge, it's this car!"

I would have had to agree.

If we can get a LS3 car with the ZL1 underpinnings, it will be a pretty sweet Z28

... with Recaro chairs and 3.90 rears?..... please?????

*2SS + 1LE = $45,000...which is pretty much as shown @ SEMA
1SS + Z/28 = $48,000, Base...plus ZEE-specific options (coolers etc.)...batch-built
ZL1 = $54,000, Base...plus options

I never looked at the ratios on the new trans... rear gears may not be an issue.

Anyone know the numbers on the new trans?
