On a more serious note I sure hope there was nobody that was seriously injured in this crash.

Me too! But it seems by the windshield that the passenger dint wear the seat belt!

Kinda looks like the passenger side of the windshield was struck from the outside to me.

Yup ... hope so too.

My reasoning ... looks like the airbag on pass side is deployed (would hopefully prevent passenger from hitting windshield). Also, based on the center of the circle of damage to the windshield (point of impact), it is awfully low for a person's noggin to strike there based on dashboard position. The impact would likely be a fair amount higher, I'd think. Also, based on the light reflection off the breaks, it looks slightly recessed.

Not an expert here either, just my observations and having been first on scene of quite a few accidents. The damage doesn't look all that severe, but sometimes folks can get hurt badly in accidents that look minor or walk away with minimal to no injuries from nasty looking ones...

For example, my Explorer that decided to commit suicide under the side of a semi a few years back...



I walked away with cuts across the backs of both hands and a slightly strained left knee.
