Remember that auto's, especially four door models (softer tune's different rear gears) dont put down as much whp as the manual's. I wouldn't get too excited that a Charger didn't put down what some manual equipped Challenger's make.

412*0.18(18% drivetrain loss)=74.16+412=486.16hp at the crank, not bad at all

Front end of the SRT8 just kills it for me.

i like the new engine, and the 8 speed tranny is nice... don't particularly like the plagerized Evo front end or the door creases.. the rear end is much better looking now

Unfortunately it's still a 5 speed.

lower numeric gearing actually HELPS dyno numbers. also, the chargers wheelbase is only a little larger than the challengers so that shouldnt make much of a difference at all. and last but not least, the 425hp srt's consitantly put down 360rwhp which is closer to 14-15% drivetrain loss. Their auto trannies put down just as much as the manuals, their autos are pretty damned efficient. 412rwhp means these chargers probably make about 480hp......what are the challenger srt8's rated at??

I wasn't much for the 4-door Charger, but I love the new redesign, and I love all SRT versions of them. The new one looks really good in the front, rear is alright, but they need a coupe version. If they offered a coupe version I think it would appeal more to people (younger buyers in particular that don't need room) it would be a good sell. I would be sold on one.

NO tunes available for the 2011 or 2012 mopars yet.....so were stuck on just bolt-ons for the time being. Fingers are crossed someone will release a tuner for them.

I'm pretty sure both the challenger and charger SRT are rated at 470hp/470trq. On the RT models the challenger is rated slightly higher than the charger, like 5hp.

Putting the wheels aside, that looks very good. Dodge will never do it because a Charger coupe and the Challenger are basically the same car. They would just steal sales from each other.

they should just tweak the panels here and there on the challenger and make a retro 2 door charger srt coupe and get rid of the challenger. Challenger is a beautiful car but is bigger than it should be. They should bring the chally back on a different platform.
