I wasn't trying to down you for your choice, just explaining why dodge was making the deals they were in January.
Challengers are cool.

I know. If everyone around here keeps being reasonable I will have to spend some time on another forum too. Just so I can get some laughs at how seriously everyone takes it.

Should've gotten the SRT8, but the R/T is nice.

Funny you mention this - I just had posted in the January sales thread about how a friend of mine bought a Challenger R/T over a Camaro because the only Camaro that came with a 3.90 gear was the 1LE while all 6-speed manuals come standard with 3.90 gears. He is planning to daily drive his car through Michigan winters, so that meant he had to go with the Challenger R/T since he wouldn't even be able to drive the 1LE home.

At least you're in a V8

You say you need more power yet you went with the challenger R/T
Yeah, it might have more power than your V6 camaro did. But it's also heavier. I'm sure you have noticed by now that it isn't even that much faster than the V6 Camaro. In the end it is your choice though, they look okay I guess. |

You think I was being un-civil because I said: "Not sure everyone would agree with this. When buying something special like a sports/muscle car, it's not "just a car". It should be very special to the owner. If it's "just a car", buy a Kia"? I still stand by my statement. And I also stand by your "beauty of the country we live in" statement... but a Camaro SS (or Challenger SRT, or Mustang GT) is not "just a car". They are engineering works of art and should be respected as such. Now was that un-civil?

not to be mean but the ones saying r/t's are dogs are right on the money, at least in my experience and what I learned from these cars, SRT or no challenger IMO. but we are all different, test drive it and if you like it then that is all that matters. for me they are too big for my liking, in SRT form they scoot pretty well and if I had to get one that would be the model. to each there own! that Hemi sound is sweet as they come!

Good for you. There's not a damn thing wrong with the Challenger. No, it's not as fast as the Mustang or Camaro, but it is what it is... a very nice looking, comfortable car. Of course, you'll get bashed all to hell and back for posting this on the Camaro site... but you prolly knew that already.
