That's so ironic that the Task Force appointed by Obama to fix the U.S. automakers don't drive American cars themselves. So one of their goals will be to somehow get Americans to buy American, yet they don't do it themselves... Do as I say, not as I do.

Who better to fix the problem then the people who are effected by it?

A group of people who don't drive American cars has a much better idea of why they didn't buy an American car than a group of people who did... don't you think?

The lady with the Lexus makes me laugh. How many people who buy a Lexus view it as unimportant and use it to just "get around town." ...lol. I'm calling bullshit on that one.

Your so wrong. I know about 13 guys who drive a Lexus (including clients) and one of them is a nice guy.

I dont see a problem with this at all. Obviously there was something about a "domestic" car that didnt appeal to some of those folks. And I use "domestic" very loosely. Do any of you want others to critique the make of car you drive or tell you what to drive?

It'd probably help if the government bought GM cars for police and other government use. G8 AFM CHP cruisers and Hybrid/XFE trucks for park/transit use. It will replace the ones that are more inefficient and bring in some revenue.

Well they do buy American. I've never seen an import model on a law enforcement vehicle. And I seriously doubt there have been.

They usually do, but its all ford and dodge stuff mainly. I know they use tahoes and suburbans, but nowhere near the amount of crown vics, chargers, and intrepids. The trans stuff I see are mostly 80s-90s ford trucks, once I serviced a 2005 Kodiak cone layer.

Google option B4C. GM has made some great cop cars. Early 90's Caprices(9c1), 4th gen Camaro's(B4C), etc.

I'm just pointing out the irony in it.

To me, it just sends the wrong message when NONE of the 6 main Task Force members drives a car from one of the U.S. automakers, and only 3 of the 12 auxilliary members do. 3 out of the 18-member Task Force drive a car from one of the Big Three.

It's very similar to when the Big Three CEOs went to Washington begging for bailout money -- in LUXURY JETS!!! You can't make it up... The reaction of the committee members and senators was so negative to their arrogance, that they didn't make the same mistake on their next trip, and the second time they came to Washington, they drove -- in U.S. hybrid cars.

This import-loving Task Force may very well do the job, and I'm sure every single person who enjoys this forum wishes them success. But they have already rubbed me the wrong way before they have even started.
