Thanks for the advice in advance
The CTS-V / ZL1 brake upgrade is hands down the best bang for the buck brake upgrade. As you move through the range of Brembo brake upgrades the GT-R are nothing short of phenomenal. Aside from incredible stopping power and consistency, they are automotive art. They are priced inline with the quiality and performance they deliver. Unless you are going to be hard core running laps frequently I suggest you stay with the CTS-V setup. If you are going hard core. Swallow hard and do it really right.

What do you plan on doing with the car? Unless you're road-racing the factory brakes are plenty good; just upgrade the lines to stainless steel braided and replace the factory fluid with SuperBlue or something equivalent. If you just want a great street/track upgrade check out Racing Brake's rotors:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140227

Not only do they run considerably cooler than the factory rotors under heavy braking, they LOOK cooler, and as a bonus remove important weight which you'll feel in the way the suspension responds. If you get all 4 you'll feel the difference in acceleration and stopping; shorter stopping distances (the whole purpose of brakes) and quicker acceleration response due to the reduction in unsprung rotating weight.

Unless you have money to burn, just make sure you know what your braking needs are going to be before you spend all the money on a brake upgrade because it can get expensive. If all you're doing is running on the street and a drag race once in awhile at the track, just upgrade the lines and fluid; the stock brakes ARE Brembos after all and plenty good for normal use.
