My wife said the same thing. Good thing you didn't sit on the hood. I had a new hood and header panel to put on the 69 so I didn't really care about it.

I am ignoring him. No skin off my back. I also post a pic of my 68 over there so I might as well do it here. Bought it in 84 when I was 14 for $1200 bucks. A paint job, new motor, tires, etc. and this is what I drove in High School.

I think it's a very cool comparison. My story is similar. I bought a '68 also, in '79, for $1600, fixed it up and sold it for college in 1983. Was 28 years between Camaros, with a Vega, Mustangs, Aerostar, Civic, and Tahoes in between.

Bird, you are awesome - thanks for sharing your pics & memories. I don't always hang out in the main forum either, so glad you posted here. Truth be known I always come to the vert forum first!

Man I only wish I had a car that cool back in HS '75-'79! But I was in love with my '70 455 Bonneville 4-door, the only thing I could afford. In junior college I bought my neighbor's Chevelle '71 vert, but lasted only a year before it rusted beyond repair. Also went through a '71 Cuda slant-6 automatic vert (yes they made them) and a '71 Lemans 3-speed 350 vert. All rusted out, as I lived near the ocean and roads were salted in the winter - losing battle. And no garage.

So now I have my cool car (and garage), or at least I think it's cool which is what matters in the end, right?! Oh, and helping people too. Especially that. Owning OrangeVert also makes turning 50 this year a lot easier to deal with!
