Nope, backwards. The driveshaft would rotate 2.92 times before the axles would rotate once.

Reading my post now I can safely say I am retarded. Thank you for clarifying, too.

Greetings all! I've ordered all the parts (3.91 ring/pinion, SS carrier, axles, hubs) to do this swap. I'm sitting at about 3k for parts and install. I tried to go the Richmond route and ran into the same issue, it doesn't fit a 2ls 7.6irs carrier. I'm having the work done at Lucky's Speed and Performance in Longview, TX sometime next week. I've talked with C5 member BlackoutLFX who has swapped to a SS carrier with 3.45 gears (and don't forget the LSD) to make sure the drive shaft fits. He claimed it all mated right up without a hitch. I'll be posting a thread on this with under carriage pictures when the work is done. My expectation is that my little six banger is about to feel like a monster!

The SS driveshaft is too short for our cars. I think maybe the SS Trans(tr6060 & 6L80) are bigger than ours, so the drive shaft is shorter as it has less distance to cross. Not sure though could be talking out my ass, but I do know that our drive shafts are not interchangeable.

Just buy the LT carrier and install them. The carrier is only about $120

I have a complete 2LT diff setup (3.27 gears) axles and hubs for sale. Was removed at 3,500 miles to install SS diff. Had first fluid changed at 500 miles along with all the fluids ( trans, diff, engine oil ) in the car to full synthetics and again at 3,000 miles.

Sorry buddy, We have a 7.6" gear carrier. It is different from all the other v6's and v8's. I've cried and cried over this, but its just a fact. Luckily it isn't THAT costly to get the bigger V6 gear carrier ($800ish) and that comes with the limited slip differential too.

So did you feel much of a difference when you switched it. Was it REALLY worth the 800.00 (uugghhh) You Spent???
