4B00 - Bayed? What does this mean - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I searched...and came up empty handed. what does "Bayed" mean?
Dealer has had invoice in hand for a few days... why would it be bayed?

It is probably at a shipping lot somewhere close by to your home dealership. It is probably getting off loaded from a railcar to be put on a load of cars that are going to be trucked in to your area. We usually get vehicles railroaded to New Boston, MI and trucked the rest of the way.

does your dealer have invoice in hand? seems weird that he would have the invoice already...maybe this is common?

No invoice that I know of. It has been stuck at 4B00 for weeks now

IMO, it is NOT common for the dealer to have the invoice unless the car has cleared all QA holds, etc and is enroute to the final destination. As said earlier, you are most likely bayed at an intermediate or final stop before delivery to your dealer waiting for the next truck to "get full" and move your vehicle. Obviously they won't just load one car on a hauler and move it.

Thanks for the info. do you think we are looking at weeks or months?

If you have a "recent" VIN you could be looking at days. What VIN is it?
