How much is it for the seat back and parts only. The bottoms are interchangeable.

So while I was getting a part at the dealership, I asked the parts guy to look up the 1LE Recaro seats. He gave me the schematics for both my 2010 SS, and 2014 1LE. Now I just need to compare. I found here on a post that a GM tech said that auto manufactures keep their seats and Recaro will make theirs around them for the auto manufactures. Looking at the schematics, this is true. All the main mechanisms and electronics are identical. The whole bottoms are exactly the same, just need the Recaro pad and seat cover. The backrest is a different story, but too not bad. 10 parts are required to do a conversion. Most are small plastic & bolts other than the main framework, pad, cover. I'm going to price out Monday. I wish I had this earlier this week. If the price comes in decent, I'd love to try this mod.

The price won't come out decent if I'm remembering correctly. Someone did the math out a while ago for buying all of the individual pieces that are required to retrofit the Recaro seats.

But you don't need ALL the pieces. But we all know the stealerships will still be quite high. I'm interested to find out.

Isn't Recaro a German company while Johnson Controls is an American company(out of Wisconsin I think)?

We have a Johnson Controls here in the KY TN area an I have been told they make Corvette seats and a few others would be nice to see if they make our beloved Camaro seats there

They probably do. Johnson Controls makes most of our interior already.
