Insuring the Camaro.

I am trying to do some research on the financial impact of this car, and I have all the figures except for insurance. My concern is because I will be 23 the insurance on this car will be unbearably expensive. I thought maybe if I put the car under my parents insurance I will save a great deal of money. The problem is I am making the payments on the car so I own the car, is it still possible to get the car under my parents insurance? Thanks for the input.

Some will allow it for circumstances (think student etc), most will not.
Call some companies up and ask for a quote, you may be surprised.
Mine is cheaper than my old Tahoe was.

From what I understand, your parents would have to sign for the car also and you would have to co-sign.

Yes you can, mine is insured under my parents name with me on as a driver (I'm 18) and I'm paying $968 for every six months.

probably wont help, but my dad got it quoted with his insurance the other day, and the lady said it would be $4 more then the insurance on my current fusion. unfortunately I do not know what that rate is. just a comparison.

Yeah I graduated college last December and I am employed. Luckily the insurance in my area is fairly cheap, but still I'm under 25.

I am a little confused, are we talking about the auto loan or the insurance? I already know my parents need to co-sign on the auto loan but how does that affect the insurance?

Thats low, especially for Michigan.

Well my primary concern is age, your father is probably much older than me so this doesn't affect him.

Whoa! Maybe it is good to be getting older! I just paid $291.60 for my 6 month premium. That's full coverage with $120.00 deductible.

Good luck on your insurance, whatever you decide.

Paul

How is that even possible? I thought the insurance companies stick it to you for owning a car with a V8 engine?

Its actually very common i think.
when my friend was in the market to buy a car back when we were 17 ish it was actually BY FAR cheaper to insure a V6 mustang than a honda accord/ mazda 6. im not very sure why but im hoping that means my insurance will stay about the same when i get my car
