Insuring the Camaro.
I am trying to do some research on the financial impact of this car, and I have all the figures except for insurance. My concern is because I will be 23 the insurance on this car will be unbearably expensive. I thought maybe if I put the car under my parents insurance I will save a great deal of money. The problem is I am making the payments on the car so I own the car, is it still possible to get the car under my parents insurance? Thanks for the input.

Some will allow it for circumstances (think student etc), most will not.
Call some companies up and ask for a quote, you may be surprised. Mine is cheaper than my old Tahoe was.

From what I understand, your parents would have to sign for the car also and you would have to co-sign.

probably wont help, but my dad got it quoted with his insurance the other day, and the lady said it would be $4 more then the insurance on my current fusion. unfortunately I do not know what that rate is. just a comparison.

Well my primary concern is age, your father is probably much older than me so this doesn't affect him.

Wanna hear something weird, my 2SS is CHEAPER to insure than my wife's 05 Solara convertible. $545 v.s. $558 for 6 mo. $1000 deductible on comp and collision for both.

How is that even possible? I thought the insurance companies stick it to you for owning a car with a V8 engine?

when my friend was in the market to buy a car back when we were 17 ish it was actually BY FAR cheaper to insure a V6 mustang than a honda accord/ mazda 6. im not very sure why but im hoping that means my insurance will stay about the same when i get my car |
