Camaro5 El Paso, TX/Las Cruces, NM Chpt TRANSFORMERS 4 Movie Premiere Extravaganza!
On Saturday, June 28th Camaro5 El Paso, TX/Las Cruces, NM Chapter was invited by Allen Theaters to once again come out and provide a display for the weekend premiere of Transformers: Age of Extinction after the success and praise by local patrons of the one prior for Dark of the Moon back in 2011. Without hesitation, we accepted and aimed to provide a more elaborate and more participants to this year's premiere by bringing 22 of Camaro5 EP/LC's 5th Generation Camaros. We gathered at 10AM on top of Trans Mountain in El Paso, TX where all of the El Paso members participating, new and old would congregate and depart together for a 30 minute trek North to Las Cruces, NM where they would meet the Las Cruces members at Allen Theaters' Cineport 10 Cinema. Once arriving to the theater at 11:30AM, parking and setting up began for all 21 Camaros evenly throughout the theaters' round about drop off driveway and having one of EP/LC's Transformers Edition to be parked inside the theater lobby for all movie goers to have an extra experience, mainly for the little kiddos to become more excited for Transformers 4. Once everything was all done vouchers were provided to all members and their party for admission for the 5:00PM screening for Transformers 4, courtesy of Allen Theaters. Of course after a long morning of prepping, driving, parking, detailing in the hot sun, one's hunger is bound to arrive sooner or later, so reservation were made at De La Vega's Pecan Grill and Brewery north of the Mesilla Valley Mall property where the banquet room was ready for all 50 of us with drinks ready at the tables and the projector screening the Brasil/Chile World Cup game. Laughs were had and bellies were full, and a poor unfortunate waiter had to deal with a table of 20 ON HIS FIRST DAY...ouch, but none the less once we were done with our food and drinks, we had 1 hour of down time where everybody could walk the mall or hang by the cars before reporting back to the theater at 4:00PM so we could line up for the movie. You don't wan to be getting in line 10 minutes before the movie starts, now do ya? Screening for Transformers 4 was at 5:00PM and already by 4:15, the line was at the doorway, but thanks to Kara and the fine folks at Allen Theaters, we were able to create our own"separate" line for our group. When theater cleanup was through and the tickets were being taken, it was a mad dash for the perfect seats and boy was it a madhouse, lol. All in all though, everyone had a great and comfortable seat in the house and boy did we need it. The movie was an thrill ride rollercoaster of endurance because it was a 3 HOUR LONG MOVIE! GREAT MOVIE, but looooooooOOOOOOOong, hahahaha. However, hearing the kids, or maybe it was our members, actually clap and make cheers when Bumblebee and the concept rendition of the 5th Gen Camaro show up, made everyone smile with glee. After the movie, we took our group picture, tore down and headed straight to Caliche's Frozen Custard Hop Shop, cruising with the windows down and sunroofs open to a nice 82 degrees in the New Mexico sunset. Being out in the sun all morning, watching the World Cup, lasting through a 3 hour long blockbuster adventure ride pretty much from dawn to dusk makes you wanna treat yourself to a frozen treat, and boy Caliche's does not disappoint. With Camaros parked everywhere, Lambos and hot rods driving in, you just couldn't ask for a better way to end the day of events with those that have so many different interests but yet one common enthusiasm, the Camaro. Thank you to all that joined in on the fun Saturday and a very special thank you to Daniel (Boricua) for lending us you Bumblebee for the lobby display while you are away and also to Kara and Allen Theaters for inviting us and helping with everything to have this full extravaganza become a reality. Enjoy the pictures everyone, provided by all the members of Camaro5 EP/LC that attended! Last edited by Char1ieone; 07-01-2014 at 11:23 AM. |
