Exclamation Destroyed my paint job

I am so embarassed to even write this thread, but what must be done shall be done for my baby.
A while back I got really washer happy with my camaro. I used one of those rough green "sponges" you use to clean dishes; it's not really a spone since it doesn't absorb water...do you know which one I mean?
So much to my anger (I've never hated myself more), I have completely scratched the s%8@ out of my ride. There are little superficial swirls ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OVVVVVVER my car. They are superficial but wax doesn't take care of it.
HELLLLLLLLLLLLP !!!!

are you talking about a scouring pad or one of those scrubber things that is like a plastic ball of fibers? Either way, take your car to a quality detailing shop and have it buffed by a professional

+1, don't fret too much, a good detailer can take care of that damage.

I had a buddy who's wife used a brillo pad like that on his new car....she thought she was surprising him by washing it so good, well.....they aren't married any more.

As posted above, if you didn't go to deep a dood detailer should be able to save it.

Lesson learned.

Anywhere from a few $hundred to a full color sand, buff, and polish can run a few grand for a show quality finish. You would be amazed what a skilled detail guy can do withthese factory paint jobs.....just fantastic.

And I wouldn't even use the foaming brush at the high preasure car wash to avoid that. A good machine buffing might take the paint back to shine.
