Does anyone else get a ticking sound when they turn the car on or sitting in a drive thru.If i give it a little gas the tick speeds up a little but only stops if i get going a little bit. I was just wondering if this is a normal thing or i need to take it in to get fixed.

There is a TSB for L99 lifter noise.

Sounds like lifter noise - may not be a problem though. I had a Corolla that did that and through some digging found that it was completely normal.. car ran for 200,000 Km plus perfectly before I sold it. Any good service manager should be able to help you confirm if yours is anything to worry about.

Very fast cliking are the injectors, but a click about 1/2 second apart at idle is the fuel pump. Most of V6's have this cliking.

To tell you where the ticking noise is coming from, need to actually hear it myself.. but i really doubt its the direct injectors, as youre noticing the ticking clearly.

It could be a loose bolt.

But the OP is describing exactly what the direct injection sounds like. I too was concerned long ago, but it's just normal operation.

OP, it is the direct injection.

Mine is quite loud.

You have nothing to worry about.
