Honestly, if you want big gains and keep your warranty a set of LT's give you the most bang for your buck. I noticed a huge difference after I put my Kooks LTs & 3" catback on and that was without a tune. I drove it that way for about a year before I decided to put a cam in. Texas Speed has a complete exhaust at a very reasonable price that you could look into.

You could also choose to get a cold air intake. There are several choices and some comparison data available here as well.

Just do a little reading in this section and you will find a wealth of knowledge, experience and opinions for just about any mod you are looking into. Good luck.

I appreciate the wealth of knowledge fellas! Yeah, I really don't want to void the warranty, so I'll stay away from the cam job for the time being. I didn't realize the value in long tube headers! What sort of gains should one expect out of them? Same question goes for bigger cats. Intake... Yeah. Figured that one.

So if I invested in long tubes, bigger cats, and CAI... Y'all recommend a tune? And is 400 at the wheels attainable with these upgrades?

If you got a tune you would probably be in the neighborhood of 415 to 420 hp with full exhaust and CAI... depending on the dyno. Again, you don't need a tune for LTs and CAI. Without a tune you will still be above the 400 hp mark and you will keep your warranty.

You can get the TSP exhaust from engine to mufflers for ~ $1,625.00 and that is with cats. See it here... http://www.texas-speed.com/p-34-tsp-...ess-steel.aspx If you choose to go with Kooks or or ARH call Maryland Speed who posted above, great service and prices.

What is your goal? If 400rwhp is your goal then just buy the three items below and you will have over 400rwhp and have plenty of $$$ in your pocket.

CAI
JBA Mids
Custom Tune

400+rwhp

If you are looking to go way past 400rwhp then get the Long tubes.

Just my o2

If you get the right cam you can get nearly 100hp just from CAI, cam, LT's and a solid tune.

Cold Air Inductions intake should be the first thing, install it yourself - should set u back a few hundred

Second should be a cat-back exhaust - i recommend the Borla Cat back exhaust - that will set you back a little over a grand

and to top it off get a tune from JRE (SCT) which would be around 3-450 bucks

you might have extra money left over but put that towards future mods

oh and if your looking for cosmetic mods, i would suggest ground effects, (razzi and havoc are my favorites) and maybe tint, which in total would be around 1,500

Power gained from this not worth losing your warranty over. Ask Ted what this will gain you. Zero on the catback.

I got 411 rwhp on kooks, cats, and cai. Tune did not change power but did fix timing that resulted in a smoother engine. My timing caused some knocking with the stock tune, so not sure I agree with no tune needed with LTs and cats.

If you don't want to void the warrenty, then I would suggest:
1. Exhaust for sound
2. CAI
3. Hurst Bullet shifter

If you don't care about warrenty:
1. Exhaust for sound
2. CAI
3. LT headers
4. Hurst Bullet shifter
