It also looks cooler.

Jack Olsen.

I've read hundreds of your posts on the Porsche and garage forums. You're somewhat of a legend. Now you have graced us with your presence on this forum. I think you should post a shot of "Black Beauty II" housed in that awesome garage of yours.

Oh, and I'll get a shot of mine in the garage soon. Whenever I'm home it wants to go out and play, it seems.

Cheers,

Jim

Neither of these are mine but it is my garage.

Camaro-Whipple, 657rwhp
G8-Bischoff built engine W/procharger, 701rwhp.

Here is an old pic with mine. The silver one is gone and the blue one is getting restored. I'm currently Camaro-less :(

My Camaro sits with an eclectic bunch of other cars and motorcycles.

Thanks very much, Jim. I'm kind of a garage fanatic, which is how I stumbled on this thread.

Mine is just 20x21 or so, and it's a hodge-podge of construction that goes back to 1925. But I went to work on it when my union went on strike in 2007, and I put together a pretty decent little shop with a lot of sweat-equity and about $3,500 out of pocket.

I don't want to make too much of a detour off of the thread topic, but if anyone is interested in seeing more, let me know and I'll post it here. I also put together a website for the place, which is at:

http://www.12-gaugegarage.com .

And if you're into garages and tools, check out http://www.garagejournal.com -- some amazing stuff there.

Here's the old 911 parked in its spot:

And here it is with one of the garage's surprises, a 48"x48" section of floor that rises up to workbench level.

You can see the two fold-down work benches on that left-side wall. Everything in the place is home-made, second-hand or repurposed.

Oh, and wait -- since I mentioned the look of a nose-out parking space, here's the car backed into place:

11 years ago, when I was looking for a weekend/fun car, my initial search was for a 67-69 Camaro. But I found the 911 first, so that's the path I ended up going down.

Cool seeing a 2CV in one of the pics, always like those.

Mgaspari, if you see my post, what height garage is needed to park a car on a lift and below it?
