New Camshaft Installed

Well I couldn't resist any longer and decided it was time to go into the motor. I knew I wanted a more aggressive camshaft but I didn't want to sacrifice the car's drivability at all, been there done that with a prior mustang. After talking to a few shops I decided to go with Ed Curtis of Flowtech Induction, he knew I was looking for a fun street car that I wouldn't mind taking my family along for a long cruise in. He selected a very mild custom Lunati camshaft and kit. Ted Jannetty hooked me up with a set of Dynatech LTs with Hi-Flo Cats, and a set of Phadt lower control arms to help me plant the newfound power. I had Jason and the gang over at RPM Performance in Garner NC handle the install and dyno-tune.
I'm happy to say that I love the car now. It sounds great, accelerates beautifully through the entire rpm band. The car has absolutely no bucking, surging, stalling, or any other type of aggravations sometimes found in camshaft swaps. I sacrificed some peak hp for a power band where I can use it and the driveabity I needed. For the 150-mile trip to RPM the car averaged 17-mpg, the return trip after install was 19-mpg

That low end torque curve looks nice on this cam. Nice gains for not losing anything low!!

We have just about the same cam and supporting mods. Mine made 441rwhp / 412rwtq on Ted Jannetty's dyno and can be lugged around town as low as 1000 rpm. It's nice to have a powerful car that drives like stock...

Nice work...

This is what was key to me, I wanted to be able to drive the car anywhere, at anytime without worrying about issues. All in all I ended with a gain of 55 hp & 25 lb tq to the wheels and better than stock driveability . Might add an underdrive pulley next as we didn't have one on hand when the work was completed.
