Question Engine hesitation

Guys - have you experienced any engine hesitation while driving? Every time I drive between 30 - 40 miles or when RPM's are between 1,000 to 2,000 - I'll get engine hesitation.

Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. I have already changed engine oil, spark plugs, cleaned MAF and added fuel additive

I'm surprised your ZL1 would already need new spark plugs and a fuel additive. Here's a thread I started on a similar issue with mine but little different and hard to reproduce.

What's the mileage and do you have a manual or auto? Give it a battery nap for 10 minutes so it dumps all the tables and starts fresh on the cals and see if that fixes it.

A few seconds isn't enough to dump all the power stored in the capacitors. Pull it for about 10 mins then go for a spin. Drive it for at least 10 miles going through normal city driving and a short run on the freeway so it starts relearning. If you got some bad gas it could cause this problem as well.

there is almost 0% chance the plugs or anthing to do with lubrications. on something this new you should never change the plugs just inspect them. once you learn how to read plugs you would imediatly know if there was an issue or not just by looking at them.

bad fuel usually just caused it to run bad period. my .02 is take it to the dealership if it is repeatable. why waste your time and money with such a new car?

on a car this new it could be an issue with the programing. if it is partial throttle it could be any number of feedback systems for the injection system. a bad knock sensor, TPS senor, etc could cause the car to behave eratically.

does it go away if you just floor and and go into open loop and just rely on the spark fuel tables in the tune?

It might be bad gas, because it happened after I filled up a 1 week ago, but I have refilled since then and that's why I put the additive-it didn't do anything.

I am disconnecting the battery and I'll let you guys know

Funny this post was mentioned.....as today I took the car for an extended drive. Weather conditions were good, mid 70's with not too high relative humidity, some humidity, but overall pretty decent air. On one occassion, while shifting into second and then stepping into the throttle at a progressive rate...the motor felt like it had a vacuum secondary carburetor on it, there was a slight pause and then the motor pulled out of it. That's the only way I can describe it. A slight pause, then the power came on in a gradual fashion. One time only....low speed 30-40 MPH...

I know first run models have their issues, but geez! The problems keep stacking up.

...does your tranny hunt at all near shift points, assuming you have an automatic? Or is it just a throttle response issue....
