When 3m tape doesn't work ...what to use?
Ok, I tried everytype of 3m tape. From the cheap to the heavy duty and nothing sticks to the area of the engine bay I am attempting to mount an scanner strip. Is there any type of silicone that is heat resistent? Or do you guys have any other ideas? Thanks and Happy Memorial Day!

Have you tried adhesive promotor? Make sure the surface is absolutely clean too.

the tape will work but the surface has to be clean, clean, clean - try scrubbing both surfaces with rubbing alcohol and roughing it up a bit with 1500 grit wet dry paper, it'll stick...
I like the red #m exterior tape - I've never had it fail anywhere I ve used it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

Thanks guys for the feedback. I am trying to adhere it to the plastic lip type cover that extends a little over the top of the engine bay. On my way to work this morning....I thought about scuffing it up as well, because it is extremely smooth. Appreciate the feedback!
