It doesn't look like it will need a ground effects package. That huge muffler really bothers me though. It sticks-out like a sore thumb. They should have hidden it better or used two mufflers that were tucked-up.

How popular were the GFX on the gen5? Outside of changes for the Z/28 and Zl1 and such, I had only seen one with a bodykit from GM in person. It looked really really bad too, way over accessorized.

Yeah I don't care for the ground effects package. Takes away form the look of the car if you ask me. Looks like it would easily fall off.

I may be alone on this (gfx are a polarizing topic) but I hope so. At a minimum, black splitter and rocker panels...

Loved the gfx on my 5th gen and hope they offer an option. The rear exhaust cutouts looked incredible.

Agree - the Gen6 begs for at least a front splitter. The front bottom looks unfinished.

Do you mean an accessory body kit or parts that actually improve aerodynamics? What was on Gen 5 was for show and just added weight. Pretty sure if it helped lap times it would be on the Z/28.
Ground effects implies some functionality.

I'm already planning on high temp non-gloss blank paint for that huge can. Will be getting dual mode, so I doubt I'll be able to remove it.

Every performance model had some sort of "ground effects" on it. the 1LE, ZL1, & the Z28 all had front splitters different from the standard SS. the z28 & ZL1 also had different side skirts & rear fascias. the 1LE also could get the ZL1 side skirts (which were only tweaked a little from the SS). All of the parts helped with aerodynamics. the front splitter on the SS was a functional item also.

OP - if GM doen't offer them, you can bet there will be plenty of aftermarket kits. I prefer the fit and quality of the GM kit, hoping that is in the cards.

1LEs don't come with side skirts.
People add the ZL! skirts to the car.
