2.5" exhaust enough??

Hey guys
I currently own a 2.5" magnaflow exhaust system ... I was told recently that It would be a lot better to run a 3" magnaflow competition exhaust ... what gains should I expect? anyone ever ran this exhaust before is it tooo loud? ... My car is running a vortceh v7 supercharger with a 6.81 liter stroker kit

3inch will sound better/deeper and the sound carries more from what I've heard

Super charged applications?? I wouldn't be surprised if you pick up quite a bit of power by going to 3" all the way. Assuming the car has headers on it now?

I am running that cat back with shorties and highflow cats, with a GT14 cam, it sounds awesome. Loud, deep and at idle is wicked cool. That being said it does have a draw back, 1500-2000 rpm on highways has a drone that is really loud. But I wouldn't change it for anything.

It all depends on horsepower. If you are pushing some serious horsepower then 3" exhaust is a must. The average Camaro owner will be just fine with 2.5".

I make 700+ with my 2.5" NPP. I used to have a 3" but had ground clearance issues.

I am running the Magnaflow 3" Competition series. LT headers, no cats, and had the 2.5" section chopped out and a custom 3" section put in so it's truly 3" all the way through from the headers to the tailpipes. A tennis ball drops right through the whole thing.

Sounds great. Not insanely loud, there are actually times I wish it were louder. No raspiness, even without cats. There's a bit of drone around 1500 RPM, but not bad.

I definitely recommend. I'm hoping to get some sound clips soon.

I have the Hooker Blackheart 1 7/8 + full 3" exhaust setup. No ground clearance issue but I'm not lowered.

Considering the OP is running larger displacement and boost, I don't think 3" is going to hurt at all--if anything, you'll likely get more power and a different tone.

I'd probably make more power with 3", but my car is lowered 1" plus 19" wheels lower it even more. I was scraping everywhere I went. Cars on a wheel/tire combo close to stock shouldn't have the same problem.
